Expert Analysis
Connor Jackson | Prep Redzone Scout
Smith is headed to play SEC ball at Vandy, but I don’t think this signing is getting the love it deserves nationally. He is a big target with long strides. His catch radius is already massive, but his hands and ability to adjust his body to the ball in the air maximize it. Spectacular catches are littered all over his tape, and I expect that flash to translate to the SEC level if he can adjust to the speed. In my opinion, this is a huge pickup for Vandy, reaching in to snag one of the best receivers in Alabama.

is an explosive WR from Hillcrest who rose to being our #4 WR and #20 overall prospect in the state.
“Smith is a physical wide receiver who utilizes his size and athleticism to make plays over nearly every defensive back he lines up against. With his speed and quickness, Smith runs great routes, gains tons of separation, and can outrun defenders to make huge plays downfield.
In addition to his speed/explosiveness, Smith has a set of consistent hands he uses to hurt opposing defenses at every level of the field. It’s really impressive watching how he secures passes- he does a great job utilizing his size and catch radius to rip the ball away from defenders and make contested catches downfield for huge gains.”
Smith had a really impressive career at Hillcrest these last four years. I think he’ll be a huge asset to what Vanderbilt is building- everyone in the SEC should keep their eyes out for this kid over the next few years!

is firmly on the P4 recruiting scene and has solidified himself as one of the best 2026 WR prospects in the state. Tall, lean, and cut 6’2 185. He is one of the better-looking WRs in the state from a physical perspective. He is an elite size/speed combo, flashing a complete bag of athleticism with his explosiveness, speed, and COD. Smith completely eviscerates cushion off the line. He effortlessly gallops past safeties and adjusts to the ball in the air. Thanks to how much he threatens the defenses vertically, he is presented with several opportunities underneath to snap back and show his chest to QBs. He is light enough on his feet and has the playmaking potential to handle kick return duties and take sweeps/screens to the house. Smith is a playmaker at each level of the field and does it on a P4 frame.
