This is my first look at Jones, and in my opinion, he is one of the best pure corners out of Alabama in the 2027 class. Checks the size and length boxes with a lean, cut frame. Excellent footwork, fluid hips, and efficiently attaches to routes when carrying downhill. His ball skills are fantastic, frequently producing against the ball when in position. His man coverage skills will set the intrigue here, but he rallies hard after the ball downhill and isn’t afraid to generate contact. All things considered, Jones is one of the most underrated 2027 prospects in Alabama, in my opinion.

is a well-rounded defensive back with a physical edge to his game. He does a great job staying square in coverage and maintaining leverage against skilled receivers. Jones shows confidence pressing at the line and rerouting receivers off their stems. His closing speed stands out when breaking on short and intermediate routes. Jones plays with good vision in zone coverage and anticipates throws effectively. He’s a willing run supporter who attacks ball carriers with authority. His competitiveness shows up on contested catches downfield. Jones’ combination of size, toughness, and instincts makes him a reliable secondary piece.
Right off the bat, Jones has the prototypical build for a dominant corner at the next level. At 6’0 170, he has great size and long arms that he uses to completely blanket and wear down WRs out in coverage. When you pair that with his speed and instincts, it’s clear that offenses will have a problem going against this guy.
I was really impressed with how quickly Jones reacts to offenses. He flies to the ball, is a reliable tackler, and doesn’t allow for any additional yards after he’s made contact. All of these traits are going to set him up for a huge junior season this fall, just watch.
Jones has some impressive tape from last year you can watch below:
