The first three weeks of the season have passed, and we'll be highlighting prospects who have produced highlight tapes for their first few games. Colleges will evaluate prospect film from the first three games of the season to assess their progress from last year and the off-season, as they update their recruiting boards. Here are some DB prospects to check out from the first four weeks of the season with film!

2026 Woodrow Wilson DB [player_tooltip player_id='1138996' first='AJ' last='Thomas'] has emerged as a standout two-way player for the Flying Eagles this season. On top of his usual defensive prowess at safety, Thomas has developed into an offensive threat. He's showcasing his versatility as an athlete in a multitude of ways as a senior, which should garner him more college attention this season. Thomas is one of the best defensive back prospects in the 2026 class and has proved as much with his production throughout his career as he closes it with a strong senior season.

2026 Spring Mills DB [player_tooltip player_id='906674' first='Hope' last='Bokwe'] is playing on the back end of the Cardinals' defense this season as a long and athletic safety. He's doing a nice job in that role, but could also grow into his 6'3 frame more at the next level and play more in the box. Proving he has the athleticism to play single high safety should open colleges' eyes. Bokwe has good closing speed and is physical when attacking the ball in the air and when coming downhill in the run game or short passes. He's a definite D2-level prospect in our eyes and should receive attention from those programs this season.

The Capital Cougars have a lot of quality defensive backs in their secondary this season, but one who is underrated is 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='1050583' first='Christian' last='Robinson']. He's a Nickel/OLB hybrid type of player who is very versatile in how he's used. Robinson is comfortable playing close to the line of scrimmage but also does a nice job in coverage. He plays the run well and has the athleticism to line up over the slot and play man coverage. Robinson is a smart football player and should develop into a future D2 starter.

An under-the-radar defensive back in the 2026 class who is finally getting his varsity opportunity as a senior and doing a nice job is University's [player_tooltip player_id='894990' first='Khalil' last='Coleman']. He's had to be patient and wait for his turn among some talented skill players for the Hawks over the years as he physically matured, and Coleman is making the most of it in his final year. He's playing corner this season and has the athletic traits to execute well at that position. Coleman may lack ideal size, but he moves extremely well and is agile and flexible to stick to his man. He'd be a great addition to a D3 program in the future.

2027 Herbert Hoover WR/DB [player_tooltip player_id='1155315' first='Kno'sean' last='Hampton'] has been a welcome addition to the Huskies' program this season and is making an immediate impact. He's making a big impact on both sides of the ball this year and has shown that he can be a playmaker on offense at receiver more as a junior. Hampton still has a high ceiling as a DB prospect, but he's giving colleges another spot to give serious consideration to offering him for this year.

Another University defensive back to know from the first four weeks of the season is 2027 DB [player_tooltip player_id='1616215' first='Kyle' last='Weaver']. He's playing Nickel again this season for the Hawks, a position that fits his skill set well as a player. Weaver is comfortable playing tight to the line of scrimmage and has the lateral and vertical quickness to excel there. He plays the run as well as he does the pass, which speaks to his athletic versatility as a prospect.

Another Capital defensive back to check out from the first four weeks is 2027 DB [player_tooltip player_id='1616162' first='Demajaih' last='Spencer']. He's new to the program this season for the Cougars and immediately earned a starting spot in their secondary. Spencer has also become a threat on offense at receiver this season and has big-play potential on that side of the ball. He has natural ability as a corner and should continue to develop well at that position over the next year and a half.

One of the more promising prospects in the 2028 class has made an impact on varsity for a storied Martinsburg program this season with DB [player_tooltip player_id='1625117' first='DeJuan' last='Woodson']. He has a high ceiling as a player and prospect and is beginning to prove that in year two. Woodson has the size and athleticism to develop into a future D1 prospect in time and is showing great early signs that he'll reach that potential. He's versatile in where he aligns on defense as a young player and speaks to his talent level and understanding of the game as a sophomore.
