X Film Room: Great Week 1 Running Back Performances

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Several dozen running backs had great Week 1's. Having attended five games last week, I got a great look at a ton of RBs. X film room helped me get an eye on a few more RBs who I did not get a chance to watch in person. Shoutout to these guys for getting week 1 film out so quickly! He did his usual thing- exploded through a hole, and once he was through the first wave of defenders, he was gone. Terry totaled 273 yards and 3TDs on just 19 carries. He also had a pass deflection on defense. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I'm still not sure how Ferris State snatched [player_tooltip player_id='206418' first='Jayden' last='Terry'] up. He's an insane talent at the running back position. As long as [player_tooltip player_id='206418' first='Jayden' last='Terry'] is healthy, Grandville is a State Championship contender. As always, I like the power. Isaac hit hard, and in a few instances, dragged defenders for extra yardage. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Love his ability to slash through the defense. Contact balance is good, but can still be upgraded. He's got the physicality, and that's half the battle. At running back, Javari slashed through the defense and was very hard to bring down. Javari's vision was great. Solid change of direction, and always looking for open space. No doubt that Javari will continue his success throughout his senior season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>At Ferris State, I'd expect Javari to significantly upgrade his speed. Upgrade speed, and everything else should fall into place. A little short, but great muscle and knows how to power through tackles. Straight-up good north-south running for Rivera, and a little bit of power mixed in. Plus, he was a factor on defense and in the return game. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Rivera looks like he has what it takes to be a contributor on Varsity as soon as this season. His first highlight shows a great TD where a defender bounces right off him. Plus, 0:34 showcases a nice block. Would love to see more power running from Brady this season.
