In what will be one of the most anticipated match-ups of the CCS/NCS opening weekend of the 2025 football season, we have a big time clash from the top of the SJS and one of the top from the CCS section. Serra is looking to bounce back this year, after posting a 5-6 record last season, although one of those wins being at Folsom in week 1. Serra brings back a host of talent, including the likes of 4-star national recruit [player_tooltip player_id='1197607' first='Malakai' last='Taufoou'] along with a host of others such as 3-stars [player_tooltip player_id='1633192' first='Dylan' last='Modena'], Jeovanni Henely, [player_tooltip player_id='1611321' first='Jace' last='Cannon'] and [player_tooltip player_id='283641' first='Lemani' last='Fehoko']. There is without a doubt no shortage of talent on this years team with many other rising stars and next level talents on one of the more loaded rosters across northern California. On the other side, the Folsom Bulldogs are in the same boat, boasting one of the more loaded rosters in the entire state lead by consensus 5-star quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='283683' first='Ryder' last='Lyons'] who is coming off a monster game on national TV last Saturday night in Del Paso Heights. Lyons is joined by multiple FBS/P5 talents such as Vlad Dyakanov, [player_tooltip player_id='1382580' first='Rob' last='Larson'], [player_tooltip player_id='401258' first='Jameson' last='Powell'], [player_tooltip player_id='1361586' first='Jason' last='Hill'], [player_tooltip player_id='401252' first='Isaiah' last='Williams'], [player_tooltip player_id='1551801' first='Elijah' last='Tuua'], Brooks and August Dupree, [player_tooltip player_id='1638984' first='EJ' last='Coleman'], Lua Deberry, [player_tooltip player_id='1197519' first='Gabriel' last='Anderson'], Joey Garcia and [player_tooltip player_id='1307241' first='Joseph' last='Eyerman VI'] among a host of others.

Another clash between two of the top teams in their respective sections, Marin Catholic will travel to Sacramento and take on a very explosive and fast intercom team that should have a big 2025 season. Like the other schools on this preview, they both have next level talent, young, and rising stars, and a host of key returners coming back from last year. Marin Catholic looks to give the nod to first time starting Sophomore signal caller Dylan Skrinar and he will be accompanied in the backfield by one of the best in the bay area and two-way star Jared Geissberger who is a Cal Poly commit. Look for Elijah Serafin, Sebastian Laundry, [player_tooltip player_id='1605325' first='Jamar' last='Lincoln'] (El Cerrito transfer) Ian MacAulay, Kelley Clifford (Australia international recruit), Vince Tarantino, Chase Hatch, [player_tooltip player_id='1203247' first='Anthony' last=''] Hadsell, Johnny Greco and Cooper Milan among others. On the Inderkum side, they are loaded with speed on the outside and athletic size up front on both sides of the ball. Look for Jeremiah Payne, Jordan Cole, [player_tooltip player_id='1692701' first='Asaiah' last='Gibbons'], Jacob Stoll, Izaac Ramirez, Preston Pitts (Freshman), John Ritter, LeAndrew Jenkins, Cruise Cole, Xavier Branch and Brody Cole, among others.

We are getting a big time match up in this one with two of the better programs in the state of California clashing in Mountain View on Friday night, as Cathedral Catholic comes to town to face the CCS power Lancers. Cathedral Catholic is coming off a very impressive 9-3 season before falling to eventual state champion Lincoln in late November. They have one of the more loaded rosters in southern california, and have FBS+ prospects at every position on both sides of the ball. For the Dons, it all starts with quarterback and Cal commit [player_tooltip player_id='1000878' first='Brady' last='Palmer'] and National Recruit and consensus 2027 5-star ATH Honor Fa'alave. This duo holds over 40+ FBS offers between the both of them, and are some of the states best heading into the season. There is a host of other top talent for the Dons that include [player_tooltip player_id='1308108' first='Chase' last='Deniz'] (USC Commit), Cade Smith, [player_tooltip player_id='780269' first='Bronx' last='Letuligasenoa'], Parker Johnson, Josiah Faraimo, Willie Flores, [player_tooltip player_id='1269162' first='Victor' last='Velasquez II'], [player_tooltip player_id='1203247' first='Anthony' last=''] Bibaeff, Isaac Cook, Parker Gibbons, [player_tooltip player_id='1382556' first='Samuel' last='Samuela'] and Kevin Clark among others. The CCS power and Saint Francis Lancers have plenty of D-I talent themselves and have one of the better rosters in all of northern California. For their heavy ground attack it all starts with [player_tooltip player_id='1183027' first='John' last='Fifita'] (USC Commit), Sione Tonga, Judah Reed and Case Jacobsen (Lehigh commit). At the other positions, look for [player_tooltip player_id='283597' first='Chase' last='Cahoon'] (Stanford Commit), Sean McCoy, [player_tooltip player_id='1717760' first='Carter' last='Shanahan'], [player_tooltip player_id='401272' first='Kaimani' last='Keanaaina'], [player_tooltip player_id='401295' first='Sefanaia' last='Alatini'] (BYU Commit), [player_tooltip player_id='1717666' first='Jayden' last='Lewis'] and first time starting signal caller Drew Cumby.
