Edwards has been a tackling machine through two years of varsity, and Week 1 of this season was no different. He's got the build and strength you want, and he's all over the field making stop after stop. He finished the night with 23 tackles, 17 solo, 3 TFLs, 1 forced fumble, and 1 sack. The motor never seems to slow down, and he sets the tone defensively with his consistency. It's the kind of production you come to expect from him, and he's showing no signs of letting up as the year gets going.

Campbell is a great athlete on the backend who flies all over the field. He's got good vision, reads plays quickly, and collapses hard when he needs to. In Week 1, he finished with 14 solo tackles. He plays with energy and isn't afraid to get downhill to clean up runs or short passes. The effort stands out, and with the way he tracks the ball, he's the type of defender who always seems to be around the play.

Taylor was awesome in the trenches in Week 1 and made his presence felt right away. He slowed the run game all night and forced the offense to work away from his side. He was shedding blocks and ending runs at the line. He finished with 11 tackles and 3 TFLs. Performances like that set the tone for a defense, and Taylor looked like the anchor up front.

June is a great athlete who's still just scratching the surface of his potential. He's got vision and instincts that you don't teach, and when he's locked in, he takes over a game. He finished with over double-digit tackles, and they shut out Homestead's offense. On top of that, he added 4 sacks in the shutout win, as they cruised 35-0.

Eagen put together a good Week 1 and was productive from start to finish, even in a tough loss. He showed good range across the field and looks stronger with the added frame he's built. That extra strength helped him finish plays and stay consistent all night. He ended up with 19 total tackles, hitting double digits in solos, which is a strong way to open the year. If that's the baseline, he's set up well for a big junior season.
