Now, these Badgers return hungrier than ever to reclaim the Class B championship. Like they've done the past few seasons, the Badgers just reloaded with another group of talented players. It'll start with one of the toughest backfield tandems in Class B with QB [player_tooltip player_id='433165' first='Ty' last='Bouaphakeo'] and RB [player_tooltip player_id='1085199' first='Will' last='Gutz'], who both run with a mean, physical mindset. Will had a huge breakout year as a sophomore, where he rushed for 1,308 yards and 11 touchdowns on 264 carries, and will look to be the spearhead of the offense this season. The Badgers always have a solid offensive line, and that should be the case again with players like [player_tooltip player_id='1114445' first='Charlie' last='Swoboda'], [player_tooltip player_id='1283375' first='Saul' last='Hames'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1699284' first='Brett' last='Langan'] running the trenches. The defense does take a hit with the graduating class, but there are still plenty of prospects who look ready to make their presence felt, like [player_tooltip player_id='1270806' first='Cole' last='Miller'], [player_tooltip player_id='1700292' first='Baylor' last='Uhing'], [player_tooltip player_id='1114446' first='Ty' last='Thomsen'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1589370' first='Jay' last='Stahlecker']. As you'll see with most of the breakdowns in this feature... this district is an absolute GAUNLET. Elkhorn, Elkhorn North, and Skutt Catholic (state champions) were all playoff teams last season, and Blair looks ready to bounce back after an off year. The QB1 picture is unclear at the moment, but they will have one of the best backs in the class with Hastings College commit [player_tooltip player_id='402138' first='Blaise' last='Baughman'] looking to take on a full load as the feature back. Baughman's versatility was on full display as he recorded 505 rushing yards, 301 receiving yards, four rushing touchdowns, two receiving touchdowns, 57 total tackles, 3.5 TFLs, two sacks, two forced fumbles, 25/27 PATs, and a 39.2 average yards per punt. He will have one of the top offensive linemen in the state paving the way in junior [player_tooltip player_id='720313' first='Ty' last='Tessendorf']. The Bears will also have one of the more underrated secondaries in Class B, with [player_tooltip player_id='1810553' first='Hayden' last='Daggett'], [player_tooltip player_id='1588438' first='Andrew' last='Smutny'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1539618' first='Nathan' last='Murray'] all returning with more experience under their belt. The road back to the postseason won't be easy, as the Bears face seven playoff teams from last season, with Gretna, Norris, Elkhorn North, Bennington, Seward, Elkhorn, and Skutt Catholic all on the schedule. Expect a mostly revamped offense with voids at QB, RB1&amp;2, and WR1&amp;2. However, they will be anchored by one of the deeper offensive lines in Class B, headlined by the top in-state 2028 prospect, [player_tooltip player_id='1573578' first='Eli' last='Betz']. Eli caught everyone's attention as a freshman, combining elite size with technique that outpaces his age. Senior Jakob Meyer and junior [player_tooltip player_id='1086178' first='Liam' last='Houston'] will join him in the trenches. The Antlers' biggest test will come in their three-game stretch from Week 5-7 when they face Skutt Catholic, Elkhorn North, and Bennington.
