It should serve as fuel for the newest collection of Rams, and they have enough talent returning to get things going back in the right direction. The offensive line can be dominant with Buthe, Kinney and Schmitt operating there. Ludwig, Johnson and Newberry are quality skill players working behind them. [player_tooltip player_id='1204447' first='Ben' last='Carlo'] was a varsity backup quarterback last season and has designs on QB1. Glenwood's cause will be aided with more production from a group that includes Shain Pratt, [player_tooltip player_id='1905983' first='Scott' last='Reed Jr']., Carlos Ibarra-Bumman, [player_tooltip player_id='1616415' first='Lincoln' last='Skarnulis'], Ethan Eiseman, Gaven Abbott, Ethan Eiseman, Treyton Williamson, Justin Ewing, Dylan Pitzen, Jaxson Galusha, Connor Wear, Brandt Mower, Tyler Schmitt, Nile Lundvall, Jordan Taylor, Josh Taylor, Trace Johnson, Jordan Cherry, Brody May and Jose Diaz.

LEWIS CENTRAL

2024 Record: 10-2

Top Returnees: [player_tooltip player_id='755592' first='Jacob' last='Jefferis'], RB/LB; [player_tooltip player_id='401672' first='Jimmy' last='Scott'], K/WR/DB; [player_tooltip player_id='1583687' first='Braydan' last='Doss'], RB/LB; [player_tooltip player_id='1619876' first='Peyton' last='Phippen'], WR/DB; [player_tooltip player_id='1619939' first='Leo' last='Tatum'], DB/WR; [player_tooltip player_id='1359966' first='Thad' last='Nettles'], LS/DL; [player_tooltip player_id='1814161' first='Braxton' last='Buthe'], LB; Brody Applegate, LB; [player_tooltip player_id='1620003' first='Paxton' last='Blanchard'], LB; [player_tooltip player_id='1804233' first='Kyle' last='Walling'], DL; Jackson Cooper, OL/DL; [player_tooltip player_id='1197453' first='Kyler' last='McNeal'], DL; [player_tooltip player_id='1207814' first='Hunter' last='Infanger'], OL.

Notable Losses: Brady Hetzel; Brody Patlan; Chance Chappell; Parker Stessman; Cameron Moore; Noah Wenninghoff; Landon Kammrad; Joseph Monge; Nathan Beyenhof; Kade Holcombe; Deven Lovejoy.

Key Games: Aug. 29 vs North Polk; Sept. 26 vs vs Glenwood; Oct. 17 at ADM

Outlook: The Titans she be proud of their 2024. Reaching the state semifinals with a 10-2 record was difficult. It also had a program that strives for championships annually back at work to take it two steps farther this season. Like most years, Lewis Central will be making up for graduation losses. It does so this season with a strong group of returnees. Jefferis, Scott, Doss, Phippen, Tatum and Nettles all are important to team success in multiple phases. The defense should be very good with several members of that group along with Buthe, Applegate, Blanchard, Walling, Cooper and McNeal. Infanger and Cooper are strong in the trenches. [player_tooltip player_id='1248126' first='Brody' last='Chubb'] returns after backing up Hetzel last season. Bode Simms, Camden Dahlheim, Aden Tupa, Cole Holcombe, Darren Warner, Luke Duffey, Ethan Helm, Jude Mortensen, Kegan Kilnoski, Nicholas Malik, [player_tooltip player_id='1636197' first='Emmett' last='Brunow'], [player_tooltip player_id='1702294' first='Gabe' last='Lopez'], [player_tooltip player_id='1198835' first='Jace' last='Fagan'], [player_tooltip player_id='1696964' first='Graham' last='Lea'], [player_tooltip player_id='1580671' first='Kaden' last='Gard'], [player_tooltip player_id='1696965' first='Kaine' last='Colpitts'], [player_tooltip player_id='1596522' first='Kale' last='Molczyk'], [player_tooltip player_id='1696966' first='Kavean' last='Harmon'], [player_tooltip player_id='1699581' first='Tyler' last='Campbell'] and others will have opportunities to contribute more in 2025.

BOONE

2024 Record: 4-5

Top Returnees: [player_tooltip player_id='1619827' first='Jude' last='Baumgardner'], QB; Maddox McIntyre, RB; Joshua Ingram, LB; [player_tooltip player_id='1814186' first='Jonathan' last='Van Roekel'], DL; Dayne Garrett, DL; [player_tooltip player_id='1814203' first='Javier' last='Casiano'], DL/OL; [player_tooltip player_id='1699473' first='Slayde' last='Lee'], OL; [player_tooltip player_id='1665970' first='Trystyn' last='Heller'], OL.

Notable Losses: Lucas Boucher; Tate Hollenkamp; Dylan Bolton; Tyson Shivers; Pedro Gonzalez; Walker Smith; Wesley Sharp; Ajay Braddock; Justus Frese.

Key Games: Sept. 26 at ADM; Oct. 3 vs Lewis Central; Oct. 24 at GlenwoodSe

Outlook: Boone came close to its first winning record since 2018 last season and have reason to believe it could happen this fall with the talent returning. Baumgardner is a threat with his arm and legs, and McIntyre could take off with a bigger work load. The defense will be stout with Ingram, Van Roekel, Garrett, and Casiano back. Lee and Heller stand out on the O-Line. Joshua Ingram, Dayne Brekke, Ashten Petersen, Bodie Brogden, Mason Oostenink, Anthony Heenan, Dayne Brekke, Ashten Petersen, Patrick Houser, Moses Jungck, Noel Malin, Ali Albattat, Connor Hammer, Kevin Luong and others will have chances to help the cause.

COUNCIL BLUFFS JEFFERSON

2024 Record: 1-8

Top Returnees: [player_tooltip player_id='1403015' first='Jayden' last='Fujii'], QB; [player_tooltip player_id='1619942' first='Jayce' last='Shanno'], RB; [player_tooltip player_id='1358941' first='Braxton' last='Parks'], WR; [player_tooltip player_id='1620096' first='Clay' last='Westphal'], DB; Garrett Denman, LB; Gavin Carpenter, LB; Tyson Baker, DL; Cole Townsend, LB; Kaden Wilson, DB; [player_tooltip player_id='1814218' first='Isaiah' last='Walling'], DL; [player_tooltip player_id='1691593' first='Chase' last='Benitez'], DL; Zaden Costello, DT/OL; [player_tooltip player_id='1403020' first='Mayson' last='Kramer'], WR/DB; [player_tooltip player_id='1204466' first='Malik' last='Nichols'], OL;

Notable Losses: Jayden Mulligan; [player_tooltip player_id='1403020' first='Mayson' last='Kramer']; Jimmy Ross-Cotton; Noah Phillips; Elijah McElroy;

Key Games: Sept. 19 vs Council Bluffs Lincoln; Oct. 3 vs ADM; Oct. 17 vs Glenwood

Outlook: Jefferson should benefit from a younger roster experiencing growing pains in 2024. Fujii is a dynamic playmaker at quarterback, and Shanno is a versatile skill player on offense. Kramer is an impactful two-way performer. Parks got his prep career off to a great start and has star potential. Nichols is a difference maker on the O-Line. Westphal, Denman, Carpenter, Baker, Townsend, Wilson, Walling, Benitez and Costello are experienced producers on defense. Guys like Daulton Garrison, Elijah Solomon, Jorge Camarena, Isaac Carpenter, Jace Patterson, Landon Marco, Moxon Bentzinger, Mason Townsend, Presten Conaway, [player_tooltip player_id='1633512' first='Kaeleb' last='Myers'], Brayden Ryland, Jaden Hill and [player_tooltip player_id='1623918' first='Camryn' last='Reynoldson'] can earn more playing time.

DENISON-SCHLESWIG

2024 Record: 2-7

Top Returnees: Blaine Grady, QB; Cole Kastner, RB/DB; Jackson Graeve, RB/DB; Ryan Slechta, TE/DL; [player_tooltip player_id='1421476' first='Wilson' last='Riphin'], DB; Ethan Totten, DB; Andy Pederson, LB.

Notable Losses: Evan Zavitz; Brailyn Desy; Anthony Arambula; Nash Langenfeld; Grayson Wilcox; Dominik Garcia; Ismael Alfaro.

Key Games: Oct. 3 at Glenwood; Oct. 10 at Lewis Central; Oct. 17 vs Boone

Outlook: The Monarchs are capable of making a move up the ladder on the back of a sound core of guys returning. Kastner and Graeve are talented two-way contributors that set the tone. Grady can take a step forward in his development with the offense following. Slechta is an interesting dude on both sides of the ball. Riphin and Totten are sound in the secondary, and Pederson is a playmaker at linebacker. Trae Hartwig, Owen Fink, Jackson Steinkuehler, Camdyn Nemitz, Isai Marquez, Andy Alvarenga, Jett Paulsen, Elliott Green, Ryan Hennings, Chris Lovan, Owen Fink, Malachi Esteves, [player_tooltip player_id='1240467' first='Alex' last='Segoviano'], Joshua Ramos, Anthoni Argotsinger and others are looking to seize opportunities for more playing time.

ADM

2024 Record: 8-3 (4A State Quarterfinalist)

Top Returnees: [player_tooltip player_id='1619815' first='Hudson' last='Shull'], QB; [player_tooltip player_id='1620092' first='Leyton' last='Gerleman'], DB; Travis Jacoby, DL; Devin Gelhaar, DL/OL; [player_tooltip player_id='1689778' first='Colby' last='Simons'], P/K;

Notable Losses: Jonathon Hatchitt; Keaton Kier; Cameron Forgy; Talon Harvey; Reed Obstarczyk; Wyatt Schweiger; Corbin Reed; Grant Jansen; Reed Ausdemore; Brayden Rynearson; Grant Engleman; Ethan Asche; Karver Sutton; [player_tooltip player_id='1620106' first='Jackson' last='Pitzen']

Key Games: Sept. 25 vs Boone; Oct. 10 at Glenwood; Oct. 17 vs Lewis Central

Outlook: As we see viewing the names above, the Tigers will be challenged to run their playoff streak to five seasons in a row with what they will be replacing. The good news is that ADM has dealt with graduation losses well in recent years and have a good foundation returning. Shull gashes defenses with his arm and legs. Gerleman, Jacoby and Gelhaar return to anchor what should be a disruptive defense. Simons is a special teams weapon. Look to a group that includes Cole Waddingham, Bo Scott, [player_tooltip player_id='1699450' first='Reece' last='Strittmatter'], Andre Taborga, Audie Chaplin, Carson Oberhoffer, Cole Darling, Tyler Kneip, [player_tooltip player_id='1240468' first='Drew' last='Holman'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1221968' first='Jace' last='Finnegan'] to be competing to help keep the ADM train running.
