Last night, ten teams were in action at the Dawg Fight Jamboree held at Jay M Robinson High School in Concord, North Carolina, a suburb of Charlotte. Let's take a look at the scores, and then we'll feature one player from each team who stood out in the action.

Lake Norman 14, Porter Ridge 3 - The Pirates jumped out to a 3-0 lead; however, the Lake Norman offense, led by [player_tooltip player_id='1616126' first='Kaden' last='Craft'], looked strong in its response and ready for Week 1 action next week.

Ballantyne Ridge 7, SE Guilford 7 - A much improved Ballantyne Ridge team forced 3 turnovers; however, the Falcons tied the game with their own fumble recovery return for a touchdown.

Charlotte Christian 14, Providence 7 - The Knights jumped ahead 14-0 on the power of touchdowns from Nebraska commit [player_tooltip player_id='1106930' first='Jamal' last='Rule'] and Air Force commit [player_tooltip player_id='1671881' first='Vincent' last='Rosen']. Providence was able to get a touchdown pass late to narrow the margin to 7.

Marvin Ridge 14, Forest Hills 13 - Starting out as a defensive struggle, the Mavericks were able to break the seal to go up 14-0 via the passing game, hitting some big plays in the middle of the field. Forest Hills showed some explosive plays late to make a game of it, most notably a big TD run from [player_tooltip player_id='1678618' first='Kylan' last='Polk'].

JM Robinson 28, East Meck 7 - The host school, Bulldogs, looked efficient moving the football all night long. Running Back [player_tooltip player_id='1332096' first='LJ' last='Watson'] had two touchdown runs in his action, getting ready for Week 1.

Mason didn't get a ton of time on the field in this scrimmage, but he was able to flash his tackling ability in space, as well as his speed and athleticism in getting to the football. Mason appears to be playing a hybrid linebacker/safety role this season, and he is showing that when he gets to the football, he has the talent to put offensive players on the ground with strong physicallity.

The Pirates signal-caller showed some nice efficiency in operating their attack in limited reps during their scrimmage. Keenan is showing strong dual-threat ability and smart decision-making in the passing game, and those are going to be essential for their success this season. His top target, [player_tooltip player_id='1600209' first='Raishawn' last='Elmore'], didn't play in this scrimmage, and his presence will help him a great deal once he is on the field.

Caleb was very impressive on defense in this scrimmage. He had an interception that would have been a Pick 6 and given Ballantyne Ridge a 14-0 lead, but it was called back due to a defensive holding penalty. Caleb is playing the true ATH role as well, as he is in on some offensive packages with his playmaking ability in the open field.

This Falcons linebacker had the only touchdown for them in this scrimmage, as he picked up a fumble and ran it back for about 40 yards. I did like seeing Jayden's quickness to the football and his toughness in the interior running game. SE Guilford appears to be replacing a lot of production from last season, so there is an opportunity for him to be a major contributor on this team.

Even though Debe didn't account for the Panthers' only touchdown on the evening, he looked strong in throwing the ball on time in some tight spaces to his receivers. Jackson also showed his scrambling ability in keeping plays alive when receivers were not open downfield, and also picked up some valuable rushing yards off of those scramble situations.

Vincent was one of the most impressive players in attendance at the Dawg Fight Jamboree overall, in my opinion. Vincent made an incredible leaping/diving catch that everyone in attendance wished they could have seen on a replay down the sideline. Vincent also had a nice touchdown catch on a fade route in the corner of the endzone. You easily see why the Air Force recruited him, and based on that performance, they may have gotten a steal here.

Manny and the starting Marvin Ridge defense did an excellent job of keeping Forest Hills bottled up when they were in the game. Forest Hills got some offense going once Manny was done for the evening. His brute strength in pushing the pocket was impressive - there was one play where Manny almost took the snap from center, which was how fast he was in the backfield for the Mavericks.

Kylan again showed why he's fast becoming one of the most electric players in the Charlotte Metro Area. With his team down 14-0 and needing a boost of energy, Kylan took a simple handoff up the middle for a 75-yard touchdown run and cut the lead to 14-7 in a flash. The Yellow Jackets also do some things with him formation-wise to get matchups where they can get him the ball in the passing game as well, so he's going to be a major weapon this upcoming season.

Chima started on both sides of the ball for the Eagles in this scrimmage, and in the time I saw him on defense, the Bulldogs had to run away from Chima to get some things going in the running game. That's something that will probably happen a good bit this season since the Eagles don't have a ton of depth, but it's also a sign of respect for a strong football player on the line of scrimmage.

This was my first look at Aury in game action, and he's a dual-threat quarterback who really can throw with some impressive velocity on his passes. Aury scored the first touchdown for the Bulldogs on a read option play down near the goalline, showing some smart decision-making in the process. The Bulldogs are doing some reloading in the passing game, so the running game will be a major emphasis for them, especially starting the season.
