LJ had a really impressive game from the running back spot for the Bulldogs. On only 10 carries, LJ totaled 175 Rushing Yards and 3 Rushing Touchdowns. LJ is known for his speed and agility with the football in his hands, but in this one, LJ showed some impressive power – running through multiple tackle attempts by the Trojans. I spoke with LJ after the game.

Coming off of a 1,000 yard-plus season last year, LJ starts off his senior year on his home field, and as a leader who is expected to not only produce with the ball in his hands, but as someone who will need to guide some inexperienced guys on offense to success this season. LJ has picked up some well-deserved recruiting attention and offers, and with a strong start to the season, he should see more come his way.

LJ continues to have a strong offseason, picking up an offer from the Indians after a good camp. LJ looked fluid and fast as he has at previous camps, moving with confidence and smoothness in everything he does. He showed well during the receiving 1 on 1’s as he had a couple of catches with a lot of separation from his defenders in the process.

LJ had a breakout junior season for a very good Bulldogs football team that made the 3rd round of the state playoffs. LJ is nicknamed “Smooth” and that’s how I would describe his running style with the football in his hands. LJ does a good job with his vision, especially on interior running plays. LJ is able to slide to the right hole with good agility and quickness. Once he makes that choice, he hits it north/south very well. I saw him in a preseason scrimmage score, and it’s almost like he gets stronger and more determined near the goalline. LJ has college interest and should have a strong senior year.
