Woodbine's [player_tooltip player_id='1197458' first='Landon' last='Blum'] holds on to the title of top 2027 receiver after another strong season. Blum erupted for 40 receptions, 802 receiving yards, and 18 touchdowns en route to a solid 8-2 season for the Tigers. The 4-star prospect has already picked up numerous FBS offers from schools like Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Maryland, Minnesota, and Toledo. Watching Blum's tape, the biggest takeaway is how he's able to combine his size and athleticism to be a threat from anywhere on the field. Landon's basketball background translates to the gridiron, where he demonstrates the ability to elevate when going up to catch the ball and use his size to box out defenders at the catch point. Landon's lengthy reach helps maximize his catch radius, while his soft hands make sure to haul in anything thrown in his vicinity. Blum also does a good job using his speed and agility to create separation from defenders. He has a high football IQ and knows how to attack the opposing DB leverage, split double teams, and find soft spots in the zone. A good burst after the catch makes him a threat to hit the home run ball on any given reception, especially considering nearly every other reception went for 6 points when targeting Blum. Very special playmaker who should continue to gain national interest.

Prairie's [player_tooltip player_id='1616458' first='Quantae' last='Alexander'] is another big-bodied receiver who can use his basketball skills to dominate on the football field this coming fall. Alexander plays in a loaded Prairie receiving corps but still managed to record 11 receptions, 177 receiving yards, and a receiving touchdown as a sophomore. Quantae projects well as an X receiver who can use his size to beat press coverage and knows how to consistently get open near the sticks to keep the drive moving. Quantae uses his long stride and speed very well when looking to gain ground quickly. He has very strong hands and showed he can concentrate on the ball even when battling through traffic. Great redzone threat who can outjump his defender to high-point the ball. Great athlete who could also end up with college basketball opportunities in his future!

I've said already that the Waukee NW Wolves are a team to watch out for this fall with a deep, talented roster, including players like receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1204437' first='Jordon' last='Green']. Last season, Jordon was a key offensive and special-teams playmaker, recording over 1,071 all-purpose yards (670 receiving yards), nine receiving touchdowns, and two return touchdowns. When watching Jordon's tape, my biggest takeaway was his ability to find the ball in the air, regardless of the situation, and adjust his body to make the catch. He follows the ball all the way through the catch process and had several spectacular catches made outside his frame. You can tell coaches try to take advantage of Green's 4.5 40-yard speed by giving him the ball in space and letting him take over with his speed/burst after the catch. Jordon runs a solid route tree that allows him to attack all levels of the field. Watching out for Jordon and a surging Wolves squad!

I'm sure the SEP Rams are more than thrilled to have breakout sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1617718' first='Brennan' last='Swanson'] transfer over from Ames. The shifty wideout had a great season last fall in which he recorded 33 receptions for 540 yards and four touchdowns. Brennan played and projects best as a slot receiver who can use his quick twitch to route up defenders at all levels of the field. Brennan is very skilled at exploiting his opponent's leverage and forcing them to shift their hips, thereby putting them out of position. Once he's gotten DBs to bite, he's able to turn up the gas with underrated acceleration to slip past them and stretch the field vertically. Swanson is also good after the catch, with great vision and elusiveness to make defenders whiff and go off for a big gain. Reliable hands and at creating separation for himself. Effective when receiving the ball in space and allowing him to work with blockers in front of him.

Cedar Rapids Jefferson's [player_tooltip player_id='1581291' first='Lucas' last='Ranard'] is a player who saw limited touches as a sophomore but left a huge impression at the PRZ showcase last winter. Lucas earned a starting varsity role last fall and posted a strong 12 receptions, 170 yards, and a receiving touchdown. Ranard is an under-the-radar receiver who possesses sneaky speed and agility that make him hard to contain. He does a good job firing out of his stance to quickly gain ground through the stem of the route before making a sharp, clean break at the top of the route. Lucas uses his spacing very well to create separation and take advantage of soft spots in coverage. Reliable eyes and hands when making a catch. Lucas definitely has the tools to continue developing into a solid receiver prospect with two more seasons to grow!
