I recently finished a series on some of the top players in the lower classifications, but amidst that series and our NCHSAA conference previews, we haven't had much coverage of other associations, namely the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association (NCISAA).

In this new series, I'm going position-by-position to give readers an idea of which private school players to keep an eye out for this season. First up, the quarterbacks. Here are the top NCISAA QBs to know.

Lott has an easy throwing motion with simple mechanics, my favorite throwing motion in the state. But he also has a cannon for an arm, and when combined, the two work together to help him generate effortless functional velocity. That allows him not only to be more accurate on deep balls, but to hit balls over the middle than many can't dream of throwing.

A fearless player, Deifer is at his best when things break down. He's not afraid to trust his arm against tight coverage, or to push the ball down the field, especially when he has to escape the pocket. He has good functional arm strength and the willingness to take chances as a passer, something I love to see from young quarterbacks.

The Pine Lake Prep transfer is already getting some interest from major colleges and he'll look to put on a show for SouthLake Christian in 2025. A prototypical pocket passer. He has college arm strength, but his footwork tended to abandon him some last year, dropping his accuracy numbers from what he's really capable of. Expect him to put up bigger--and more efficient--numbers in 2025.

I love Logan's throwing motion, a modern flick that looks like a lot of the new compact motions you see from guys who grew up playing baseball. It allows him to generate a ton of velocity with little effort for a guy on the smaller side. He's a strong decision maker who has some athleticism, but he prefers to stand and deliver from the pocket.

Lopez only got four starts as a freshman, but he wasted no time whatsoever getting acclimated to the pressure. He threw for over 300 yards in three of his four starts. He sees the whole field and gets the ball out quickly, spreading the ball out to his playmakers. With a full offseason of preparation, Cannon has to feel good about its chances with him under center.
