We move onto our next wave of athletes who have created sparks on the field already, but are set to really make fireworks this fall. The Class of 2027 has several unfair, unreal athletes that are going to give defenses nightmares this fall in their junior seasons. They are scattered across all positions too. This article alone hits athletes at RB, TE, WR, DB, and LB. Most of them play both ways too, offering versatility on top of their game-breaking athleticism. These are the athletes to know for this year and for the next wave of the recruiting cycle. I can't wait to watch them all put on a show this fall, but until then let's talk about their talents.

Korz is one of the state's premier talents, and one of the nation's best TEs. He is coming off a sophomore season where he was able to reel in 28 receptions for 425 yards, and 9 TDs. Korz is an elite athlete for the TE position who can win with speed and quickness as well as punish defenders trying to wrap him up. The '27 also has built an unreal frame with length, leaping ability to go up and get it, and strong hands to secure passes anywhere within his catch radius. Any time Loken touches the ball is a legitimate chance for a big play.

This is going to be an exciting fall for [player_tooltip player_id='1620187' first='Harold' last='Lewis']. He spent last season as a member of the State qualifying Catholic Memorial offense. This fall he will suit up for Oak Creek to help form an exciting, explosive backfield with the likes of QB [player_tooltip player_id='998519' first='JJ' last='Chapman'] and the rest of the Oak Creek RB room. Harold himself is a kid that can produce fireworks on any touch. He plays with patience built off the confidence in his ability to burst to top speed instantly and beat the angles of defenders with that top end speed. Harold also does really well scanning for blocks and holes to attack and once they develop he attacks. Lewis was able to pile up nearly 900 rushing yards in 2024 as a sophomore, so I'm excited to see him behind the talented Oak Creek OL.

Bryce was a firework factory in 2024. He was all over the offense and defense making highlight reel plays on a weekly basis. He finished 2024 with 142 rushing yards and 2 TDs along with 51 receptions, 1055 yards and 11 TDs. Plus he put up 5 INTs and 14 PBUs on defense. Bryce produced at an elite rate and was able to do it because of his gamebreaking traits. Bryce is so quick changing directions, making him a very effective route runner and very effective in man to man coverage. His ball skills are some of the best in the class, showing strong hands, great timing, and the ability to adjust last second to be able to get his hands on the ball. Bryce is a kid that you need to find on every play because it only takes a split second for him to take over.

Green Bay Notre Dame is not new to watching fireworks on Friday nights. However, who produces those fireworks is about to change. I have very high hopes for RB/DB [player_tooltip player_id='1620318' first='Kingston' last='Allen']. He put up 54 carries 361 yards and 3 TDs along with 3 PBUs on defense in 2024. That is just scratching the surface on what he could do this fall at RB and safety. This summer Kingston has run in the 4.5s multiple times and broad jumped 10'8". The kid has a great frame for either position, brings powerfully explosive athleticism to the field, and is going to have a strong supporting cast around him. The highlights are going to be fun to watch from Allen this fall. The next level is taking notice too as he already holds an FBS offer and 2 FCS offers.

Another dynamic, explosive, and extremely productive member of the Class of 2027 is Chris Kenesie. The RB/DB put up 1200+ rushing yards and 15 TDs on the ground while adding 3 more through the air in 2024. On the defensive side he was all over the field making 81 tackles, 14 TFLs, 5 sacks, and grabbing 7 INTs. When it comes to instincts Kenesie has some of the best in the Class and he gets to pair it with athleticism that would be unfair without that ability to diagnose and know where to attack or where to put himself on defense to make a play. On offense we watched Chris show off his quickness through the front seven and elusive running while piling up the yards and highlight reel runs. On defense you can't question his three down, three level ability as he makes plays deep, in 1 on 1 coverage, and against the run game. The fresh highlights are going to be fun to watch in just over a month!

Even while serving as the RB2 of the offense, Austyn was able to show off hints towards what could be a massive junior season. He put up 96/518/3 on the ground, but this summer is why I have gotten the most excited for Wittek's future impact. Austyn has posted elite numbers athletically. He hit an elite 38.4" vertical and also ran a 4.51 40 yard dash. The '27 also qualified for state in track & field while also breaking the school record for the long jump. Every chance he gets, Wittek proves that he has some off the charts athletic strengths. I can't wait to see what comes from that with 15-20 carries a game.

One of my favorite new athletes from the summer is [player_tooltip player_id='1653433' first='Dejon' last='Knutson'], WR out of Verona. I have a strong feeling that a lot of people are going to be joining me on the hype train after a few Friday nights of watching him give DBs problems. Dejon is extremely explosive when it comes to change of direction. He can get back to top speed so quickly out of his breaks, demonstrated by a 4.13 shuttle. The top end speed to stretch the field shines on his tape, and I have been lucky enough to see his hands in person and the way he plucks the ball out of the air, away from his body. Or snags it with one hand to make the highlight reel play when it is the only choice. The 2027 WR is about to turn a lot of heads, so get ahead of it and join me now. Big things ahead for Dejon.

Another two-way impact player from the Class of 2027 is [player_tooltip player_id='1733719' first='Daniel' last='Butler'], who was able to make an impact on a top team from 2024. He piled up over 600 yards of offense and 4 TDs for Menomonie last year while also making 40 tackles on defense. The incoming junior has had a great summer that included earning an offer from Mankato following his 7v7 performance at MNSU-Mankato. The '27 has a reported 4.5 40 time and returns as one of the most productive members of the team. So look for his role to only grow and the opportunities for those game-changing fireworks to skyrocket.
