Trends in VA’s 2027 updated running back rankings

A total of 24 running backs are ranked in the top 300, while another 13 are on the watch list.   Prep Redzone looks into a few trends that stand out about the running backs in these rankings.   REGION REPRESENTATION   For this article, I broke down the regions into these five categories: Northern Virginia, Central Virginia, 757/Tidewater, Fredericksburg Region, and Shenandoah Valley   Based on the available data, here's the distribution of ranked running backs in Virginia's 2027 class by region:   Northern Virginia (NoVA) – 16 RBs   <a>Players from the following schools are on the list:  </a>John Paul the Great, Loudoun Valley, Tuscarora, Gainesville, Stone Bridge, Gar-Field, Marshall, Lewis, Charles Colgan, Yorktown, Patriot, Westfield, Lake Braddock, Lewis Lancers, Langley, and Hayfield.   Central Virginia – 12 RBs   Players from the following schools are on the list:  Saint James Academy, Benedictine, Matoaca, Prince George, Woodberry Forest, Douglas Freeman, Blue Ridge, Rustburg, Clover Hill, William Monroe, and St. Christopher's School.   757 / Tidewater – 3 RBs   Players from the following schools are on the list:  Oscar Smith, Green Run, and Bayside.   Fredericksburg Region – 2 RBs   Players from the following schools are on the list:  Chancellor and Mountain View.   Shenandoah Valley – 2 RBs   Players from the following schools are on the list:  Skyline and Stuarts Draft.    NoVA and Central Virginia currently dominate the list when it comes to our running back rankings.     The heaviest running backs in the rankings   1.
