[player_tooltip player_id='1176238' first='Israel' last='Hammons'] - Choctaw

Choctaw's [player_tooltip player_id='1176238' first='Israel' last='Hammons'] enjoyed a breakout season in 2024 and it was around this time last year that we started to buy in to what Hammons could be as that versatile piece on the Choctaw roster. Hammons has played almost every position on the defensive side of the ball and the crazy part is there isn't much drop off at any particular position. He can also play offense and impact the game in special teams. But it looks like his future will be on the defensive side of the ball. We just have to figure out where.

[player_tooltip player_id='1035154' first='Kaleb' last='Blackwolf'] - Del City

[player_tooltip player_id='1035154' first='Kaleb' last='Blackwolf'] is coming off a terrific sophomore season with Del City after starting his career at El Reno. Blackwolf can line up at running back or wide receiver and the playmaking ability is there. Defensively, Blackwolf has the potential to be the top ball hawk in the Del City secondary. And similar to a few other players on this breakdown, he's the complete player and can impact the game in special teams as a kick returner. Blackwolf's best football continues to be ahead of him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1067472' first='Fisher' last='Lai'] - Cascia Hall

Cascia Hall standout [player_tooltip player_id='1067472' first='Fisher' last='Lai'] feels like the ultimate example of the "athlete" label when it comes to his game as a prospect. Simply put, we can't make up our mind which side of the ball we like him more. Lai first stood out to us as a wide receiver and he's produced at a very high level in his first two seasons. However, this offseason, Lai absolutely tore it up when we watched him in person at various 7v7 tournaments and even in the spring at the cornerback position. He's definitely a two-way star.

[player_tooltip player_id='716513' first='Payton' last='Lang'] - Broken Arrow

Broken Arrow got a few new additions this offseason but [player_tooltip player_id='716513' first='Payton' last='Lang'] is one that could have one of the more significant impacts. Lang is a player that we've liked for two years now because of the versatility he plays with. He started as a quarterback prospect but has turned into a swiss army knife that can help out a team in several different ways. On offense, expect him to line up at wide receiver while he can also help on defense in the secondary. Lang has a lot of momentum going right now.

[player_tooltip player_id='1035155' first='Jalen' last='Lane'] - Tuttle

We believe that Tuttle two-way standout [player_tooltip player_id='1035155' first='Jalen' last='Lane'] is knocking on the door of a monster season this fall. Tuttle has to replace their top two targets in the passing game and late in the 2024 season, you started to see Lane producing at a higher clip on offense. Right now, Lane is your prototypical WR/DB athlete and he still brings a lot of value to a team from a defensive perspective. But when we're looking at what could be ahead, we could see him being one of the better '27 WR prospects.

[player_tooltip player_id='1324250' first='Dax' last='Owens'] - Davis

Davis standout [player_tooltip player_id='1324250' first='Dax' last='Owens'] is preparing for his third season as a starter in the flexbone option offense for the Wolves. But when it comes to his abilities as a prospect, he's going to be playing a different position at the next level. Owens has had a very successful offseason of camp work and has continued to impress college coaches. The last time we watched Owens with the pads on, he was helping lead them to a state championship. He also had a massive kick return for a score in that game.

[player_tooltip player_id='1293011' first='Promised' last='Johnson'] - Bristow

It was a little over a year ago that we first watched Bristow's [player_tooltip player_id='1293011' first='Promised' last='Johnson'] in person. In a team camp setting, it felt like Johnson was playing roughly six different positions throughout the morning session. That's an exaggeration but the versatility in his game was off the charts. And the energy he played with, given how many different positions he was playing was something that really stood out to us. Now, we're looking forward to seeing him next with a year of experience under his belt.

[player_tooltip player_id='492379' first='Bradford' last='Mitchell'] - Stillwater

Stillwater's [player_tooltip player_id='492379' first='Bradford' last='Mitchell'] is a defensive athlete that feels like a "tweener" prospect right now. Whether he's lining up on the defensive line or at the linebacker position, Mitchell has the ability to completely terrorize the opposing offensive line Mitchell was a '27 prospect that was on our radar very early on in his high school career. He's still waiting to have that breakout moment but we could see that happening this fall. Stillwater's defense is going to be a fun unit to watch this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1680641' first='Chris' last='Gardin'] - Mount St. Mary

[player_tooltip player_id='1680641' first='Chris' last='Gardin'] is one of a handful of players that stood out to us for the first time this spring when we checked out Mount St. Mary in person. Gardin was dominant in a team camp setting at the running back and defensive end position. First, Gardin was a problem coming off the edge. His combination of size and speed was tough for opposing offensive linemen. He would then turn around and run the ball at a high clip. Out of all the running backs we watched in the spring, Gardin was one of the more patient runners we saw.

[player_tooltip player_id='502549' first='Tucker' last='Brown'] - Mustang

Our final prospect to look at on this breakdown is Mustang's [player_tooltip player_id='502549' first='Tucker' last='Brown'] and similar to a few other guys, we're starting to lean to a specific position for Brown moving forward. Brown first got on our radar prior to his freshman season. We've been waiting for him to have that breakout moment at the varsity level and we think that he's about to have it. When we caught Brown in person in the spring, he really impressed us with his abilities at the cornerback position. That's something to watch moving forward.
