We kicked off our ranking update series with the 2028 class. This week, we continued with the 2027 class, ranking the top 125 juniors going into the 2025 football season. In case you missed it, you can check out our 2027 rankings RIGHT HERE. Following each ranking update, we also dive into the rankings and talk about the players that are standing out and what makes them among the best in their class. In this breakdown, we're putting that spotlight on the five prospects that rocketed up the rankings in this latest update. We had a handful of guys move up 30+ spots after solid offseasons and further film evaluations from last season.
Deer Creek's [player_tooltip player_id='523223' first='Gage' last='Gibbons'] has been on our radar for a while now. But he is legitimately one of the fastest prospects in the state's 2027 class and he's starting to earn that attention that he's been fighting for in the last 18 months. First off, Gibbons jumped up all the way into the Top 30 and is flirting with being a Top 20 overall guy. That speed in his game is a big reason why but he's also grown physically. Gibbons really impressed us at a team camp last month as a threat in the open field and after the catch. He's a really good example of the term "stock riser" because his arrow is pointing up in a major way and shows no signs of slowing down. Gibbons is also currently tearing it up on the college camp circuit. He's already earned a few D1 offers and that probably won't slow down as he goes into his junior season this fall.

Jenks tight end [player_tooltip player_id='693998' first='Braxton' last='Daniel'] was a player that we had circled coming into last season but he could never really get off the ground in his first year in the Trojan offense. Between injuries and a relatively loaded depth chart, the opportunities were just limited. Now, we're back up on Daniel and think he could be on the verge of a breakout season. Daniel has always impressed us from an overall skill and size perspective. But we were waiting to see him perform at a high level under the bright lights of Friday nights. This season might be the year that we see it. If this offseason was any indication, Daniel is going to be a big part of what the Trojans do offensively. He had a solid offseason playing in 7v7 tournaments but we were more impressed with watching him go to work with the pads on in a team camp setting, where he dominated.

Edmond North cornerback [player_tooltip player_id='1260189' first='Frederick' last='Nash'] is a guy that needs to be talked about more and we will start that conversation and also admit we should have been talking about Nash long before now. Nash first stood out to us when he was at Guthrie and he walked away from one of our PRZ camps as the best defensive back in the event. He got on our radar at that point and then we didn't follow up. Nash would move over to Edmond North and after watching him again in person this spring, we once again came away very impressed with his overall game. And this time, Nash was doing it with the pads on and it wasn't in a shirt-and-shorts camp setting. Nash was winning rep after rep and he does a great job of staying on a wide receiver's hip and has really good timing with making a play on the football. He jumped up over 40 spots in this update.

Moore running back [player_tooltip player_id='1506286' first='Ozias' last='Adams'] is the first of two running backs to move up the 2027 ranks. Adams jumped up 19 spots in our latest ranking update. He was on our radar earlier this year after having a very productive sophomore season. But the more we dove into his film and talking with other people that are more familiar with Adams' game, the more convinced we were that we had to bump him up a bit. Adams is incredibly shifty in the open field and that will be an interesting thing to watch this season. The Lions won't be lacking that speed and overall playmaking ability this season so it'll be fun to see what they do with it. Almost all of our work on Adams up to this point has been based on watching him on film. We're definitely circling him as a player we need to see in person at some point this fall.

Out of all the prospects in the latest ranking update, no prospect moved up as many spots as Norman North running back [player_tooltip player_id='1298836' first='Byron' last='Mason'] did this week. Mason jumped up 51 spots and a lot of it has to do with we finally got a chance to really watch him up close and in person and that in person evaluation matched what we've seen on film and in various clips. Mason is lightning quick when he's coming out of the backfield. And he's incredibly smooth when he's cutting and it doesn't take much of a hole in the line of scrimmage for Mason to squeeze through and break into the open field. We got a chance to watch the Norman North running back in person at a team camp and he consistently broke long run after long run. He certainly has the potential to be one of the breakout stars of this season and could move up even more.
