is another junior to watch heading into this season. Nash first got on our radar following his freshman season at Guthrie. He came to one of our offseason camps and absolutely dominated at the cornerback position. And at those camps, everyone wants to play offense but Nash was ready to shut down anybody he went one on one with. Nash is now moving to the safety position but in our opinion, it doesn’t matter where he lines up in the secondary, he has the talent and natural instincts to provide a significant impact on the defensive side of the ball.

is a guy that needs to be talked about more and we will start that conversation and also admit we should have been talking about Nash long before now. Nash first stood out to us when he was at Guthrie and he walked away from one of our PRZ camps as the best defensive back in the event. He got on our radar at that point and then we didn’t follow up. Nash would move over to Edmond North and after watching him again in person this spring, we once again came away very impressed with his overall game. And this time, Nash was doing it with the pads on and it wasn’t in a shirt-and-shorts camp setting. Nash was winning rep after rep and he does a great job of staying on a wide receiver’s hip and has really good timing with making a play on the football. He jumped up over 40 spots in this update.

Guthrie is going to be an interesting team to watch because they got hit hard by graduation. They lose a lot of experience and production and that opens the door for new faces to step in. Defensive back

is a name to keep an eye on moving forward. And this breakdown and his ranking earlier this week is 100 percent based on his performance at our April camp. And that doesn’t happen very often because we like to have a full picture view. But Nash was absolutely lights out with his performance in April and more importantly, he soaked up and took advantage of every minute there. He’s definitely not afraid of the work.

came out to compete on Saturday and he was another name that we were not familiar with coming into the camp and we walked away very impressed with his overall game. Whenever we run these camps, we stress that kids need to compete and get as much work as they can to take advantage of the time. Nash did just that and he didn’t waste any time. He soaked up everything from the coaches during the individual drills and he was ready to compete every time his number was called.
