In the month of June, we always give our rankings a fresh update and add more players to each class. We kicked off our ranking update series with the 2028 class. This week, we continued with the 2027 class, ranking the top 125 juniors going into the 2025 football season. In case you missed it, you can check out our 2027 rankings RIGHT HERE. Following each ranking update, we also dive into the rankings and talk about the players that are standing out and what makes them among the best in their class. In this breakdown, we're putting that spotlight on the wide receiver and tight end positions. We're looking at ten more prospects in this breakdown. We already featured a handful of wide receivers and tight ends earlier this week. You can check out those breakdowns below.

[player_tooltip player_id='492378' first='Deakon' last='Jones'] - Stillwater

Stillwater wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='492378' first='Deakon' last='Jones'] continues to be one of the top wide receivers in the state, regardless of class. Jones is holding on to the top spot at the position in the latest ranking update but he certainly has company. But Jones has been incredibly productive in his first two seasons with the Pioneers. And after talking with some coaches this offseason, it sounds like Jones has been consistent in the weight room, getting bigger and stronger, which will be a problem for the rest of Class 6A-2.

[player_tooltip player_id='807020' first='Cooper' last='Hooker'] - Salina

Salina wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='807020' first='Cooper' last='Hooker'] is one of the more unappreciated prospects in the state's 2027 class. We've been pretty consistent with our opinion of Hooker and it's a simple one. He's one of the best wide receivers in the state. He's proven it time after time and he's proven he belongs with some of the top guys in this class. What will be interesting is how he'll look this season. Hooker was completely limited in 2024 with a leg injury but he's back to 100 percent and ready to tear it up.

[player_tooltip player_id='1530058' first='Ben' last='Kolar'] - Norman North

Norman North tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1530058' first='Ben' last='Kolar'] is the highest rated tight end on this breakdown and it doesn't take much to defend that. Kolar had a breakout season last fall and has been absolutely lighting it up this offseason. It started with him standing out on the 7v7 circuit and he's taken that momentum and continued on the college camp circuit, earning quite a few offers in the last six months. Kolar is firmly one of the state's top tight end prospects, regardless of class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1297670' first='Tristian' last='Birmingham'] - Sand Springs

[player_tooltip player_id='1297670' first='Tristian' last='Birmingham'] is the first of two wide receivers from Sand Springs on this breakdown. Birmingham checks just about every box with his play on the field. He's been somewhat limited with when he's available but when he's on the field, he is an absolute monster at the wide receiver position. This season, Birmingham expects to be a big part of the Sandite offense. When the ball is in his hands, he gives Sand Springs a major playmaker and could have a big 2025 campaign.

[player_tooltip player_id='1530080' first='Dom' last='Forbes'] - Sand Springs

Out of every prospect on this breakdown, none were as productive as Sand Springs wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1530080' first='Dom' last='Forbes'] was last season. Forbes became one of the state's breakout stars, earning All State honors as a sophomore. You can't argue with the production and he's only gotten better this offseason and will go into this season as one of the state's best wide receivers. Forbes was the number one target in the Sandite offense a year ago and plans on doing even more this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1637567' first='Isaac' last='Woodard'] - Edmond Memorial

Edmond Memorial wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1637567' first='Isaac' last='Woodard'] is just scratching the surface on what he can be as a prospect moving forward. Woodard really impressed us when we got a chance to watch Edmond Memorial in person last season and he was doing it as a sophomore. This season, we think that Woodard will be the top target in the Bulldog passing attack and he could end up seeing his production absolutely explode. He's knocking on the door of blowing up in a major way in this class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1530085' first='Zane' last='Matthews'] - Broken Arrow

Broken Arrow wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1530085' first='Zane' last='Matthews'] was one of the breakout players in the Tiger offense a season ago. This season, Matthews expects to still be one of the top wide receivers to watch in this offense and it's going to be a loaded one. We got a chance to watch Matthews in person this offseason and each time, he more than looked the part. He's a big receiver that is incredibly reliable when the ball is thrown his way and he has to be considered a serious playmaker in this class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1694441' first='Jacson' last='Webster'] - Carl Albert

Carl Albert's [player_tooltip player_id='1694441' first='Jacson' last='Webster'] is a name to watch this season as a potential breakout star. Carl Albert will need wide receivers to step up in that playmaker role this fall after losing quite a few to graduation. Webster is a name that Carl Albert is excited about. Last season, Webster was limited in his production but on the opportunities he had, he made the most of them. He's also on the radar of college coaches and could be primed for a monster 2025 season in terms of production.

[player_tooltip player_id='473993' first='Canon' last='Bronson'] - Heritage Hall

Heritage Hall tight end [player_tooltip player_id='473993' first='Canon' last='Bronson'] is not a new name on the '27 rankings but he is new to the tight end position slot. Bronson has been a quarterback, athlete but it feels like he's locked in at tight end for now. We were very impressed with him this offseason when he was playing in various 7v7 tournaments. Then we got a chance to check him out with the pads on in May and he certainly lived up to the hype. Bronson is going to be a major name to know this season for the Chargers.

[player_tooltip player_id='692003' first='Jaylon' last='Cato'] - Jenks

Jenks wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='692003' first='Jaylon' last='Cato'] is another name in this 2027 class that feels like he's primed for a breakout season this fall. In each of the last two offseasons, Cato has really impressed us when we've caught him in person. Now, after we caught him in the spring, he feels like he's going to be a big part of the Jenks passing attack. Simply put, Cato knows how to get open and is a reliable playmaker. We're looking forward to seeing how this season plays out for Cato and the Trojans.
