Forbes emerged as a sophomore as the top target in the Sand Springs offense. He continued that during his junior season and we are fired up to see what he does for an encore. Now, we’ll be very interested to see what Forbes does this fall because the Sandites will be breaking in a new quarterback for the first time in Forbes’ career. But he has passed every test over the last two seasons so there’s no reason to think he won’t pass this one with flying colors.

Forbes is going to be a fun prospect to watch this offseason because he brings everything you want to the table. He’s rewritten the career receiving records at Sand Springs and he’s still a junior. The production is there, the playmaking ability is there. Forbes is going to be running track this offseason and that could open some eyes about just how fast he truly is. For whatever reason, he’s still flying under the radar as a prospect but in our opinion, that should change in the next six months.

Every year we see players have breakout moments and go from somewhat unknown to one of the top players at his position. That’s exactly what we saw from wide receiver Dom Forbes Dom Forbes WR Sand Springs | 2027 State OK during his sophomore season in 2024. Forbes wasn’t exactly on our radar coming into the season but it didn’t take long for him to establish himself as one of the top receivers in the game. Forbes would finish with 70 catches for well over 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns. He had seven games where he caught multiple touchdowns and would earn All State 2nd Team honors. Now, Forbes is back for his junior season and is one part of a legitimate two-headed monster at receiver for the Sandites.

We’ve already written quite a bit about the ascension of Forbes last fall but just in case you missed it, here’s the bullet points. Forbes was somewhat of an unknown by many across the state coming into the 2024 season. That didn’t last long. Forbes emerged as the top target in the Sand Springs offense and he put up some of the best numbers from a wide receiver and he would earn All State honors because of it. And he did all of this as a sophomore, which makes him incredibly interesting to watch moving forward as a prospect. Forbes absolutely dominated, every time he stepped on the field. Even against the best competition, Forbes was able to produce at a high level. We think that Sand Springs will have one of the top passing attacks in the state once again this fall.

Forbes is enjoying a breakout season as the leading receiver of a Sand Springs offense that is throwing it around quite a bit this year. Forbes got our attention in September when he started making 100+ yard games with a few touchdowns look like the new normal routine. We don’t have the complete stats from every team but it would be surprising if another receiver in Class 6A-2 had more yards and touchdowns up to this point. We get to see him in person this week and we’re looking forward to having more of an opinion of this breakout player.
