2027 DL With Something to Prove

There's a handful of 2027's that are looking to put themselves on the map this fall, and they'll have a big opportunity this year to do so. Take a look:    Haynie is a kid with a ton of potential with a very raw skillset and now combine that with a great new staff at Mesa- this provides him with through the roof potential. Strong, athletic frame with excellent length at 6'4" 225lbs and played Edge last year for Mesa. He shows a solid initial ball get off and has the natural ability to deceive OT's with either a quick hand swipe and burst outside, or set up an inside move. Big striking ability when he can get squared up and even when he can't, he uses that length to his advantage to lunge and wrap up ball carriers from a good distance. Definitely a 2027 sleeper to get on your boards with a ton of raw ability.     Brown is a quick, smooth player that has taken leaps this offseason and is really hitting a new trajectory. He showcases a quick, swift swim move to both outside or inside and keeps a strong center of gravity through lateral contact with momentum moving forward. Don't underestimate his strength either, as he shows good play strength and knows when to utilize a bull rush against offensive linemen when their weight is on the back end. Tons of potential for Brown moving forward.     Allen has all the size and strength to be a difference maker for Ironwood Ridge this fall, he just needs to put all the tools together to be that impact player. Really good upper body strength with a nice punch and ability to drive opponents backward or control them laterally. He does a great job in those short yardage situations to plug up the A gap which forces RB's to give a slight hesitation, ultimately playing a major role in stuffing numerous 3rd and 4th and shorts.     Teeples shows division 1 potential given his size and frame at 6'3" 225lbs combined with his quickness, speed and all around athleticism. He did a great job playing that 5-tech and 4i-tech to flash a lightning quick initial ball get off and eats up ground quickly on an accurate pursuit angle. Disciplined eyes as well as he played the read option extremely well, knowing when to stay home for a QB keep and when to immediately burst laterally. Violent hands with a nice punch with excellent play strength all around as well.     Peel sizes up with excellent length within his 6'5" 235lb frame with room to add mass. Solid speed along the edges with the ability to get lateral quickly and make plays down the line of scrimmage. This summer at various camps, he's flashed a nice "push-pull-rip" and an inside swim move to his arsenal, which I think we could see him develop quickly here this fall.
