On the Rise: 2027 Breakout Prospects Elevating Their Recruitment

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Through standout performances, continued development, and consistent production, these players are turning potential into real recruiting momentum. In this edition of <em>On the Rise</em>, we take a closer look at the breakout prospects who are elevating their profiles and putting themselves on college radars.</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Taylor recently picked up a well-deserved first offer from Nevada and should see more recruiting attention going forward. 5'11” 200 lbs. he's got all the traits colleges look for in a D1 safety with a strong frame, high football IQ, and equally effective in run support as he is in coverage. Shows good overall range with the speed to cover ground sideline to sideline. Quick change of direction and fluid hips allow him to easily transition when turning to run or break downhill on the ball. Shows clean and controlled footwork in his backpedal and closes space quickly with a decisive downhill trigger. Plays with a physical edge, flying downhill to meet ball carriers in the alley or delivering violent hits after the catch to break up passes at the catch point. His skillset combines length, athleticism, and physicality to be a dynamic defensive playmaker in the secondary. Excellent fluidity in his movement at his size with smooth lateral quickness and change of direction. He's a long strider that eats up space and recovers easily to close separation. Violent finisher as a tackler and has a knack for creating turnovers with well timed breaks and punch outs. Natural strength and power allow him to overwhelm opponents at the contact point and create immediate vertical push. Plays with an edge, he's a violent finisher at the POA using good leg drive and a powerful hip roll to accelerate through contact. Impressive movement skills, bend, and athleticism at his size. He's able to mirror defenders and work to the second level with good feet and balance. Recently earned his first two offers from Eastern Michigan and Idaho. Strength and power immediately stand out on tape with violent finishing ability. Shows he can control opponents and drive them out of the play with strong hands to latch on and great drive. Displays natural bend and movement skills at this size that allow him to play with good leverage and pad level upon contact. In pass protection, he's got a heavy and well-timed hand strike to deliver a strong inside punch that stalls defenders and slows down the rush. Plays with mean edge and a high motor through the whistle. At a massive 6'4” 250 lbs. he's a disruptor against both the run and pass that dominates the LOS. He's a force to move with his size and natural strength at the POA being able to anchor down and maintain gap integrity though out the play. A plus athlete at his size, he shows a quick get off, good bend, and short area lateral agility/burst. Shows good command and usage of both speed and power moves to beat blockers.
