In this two-part series, we're scouting the top players in the class of 2027. After looking at a loaded defensive class (10 defenders in the top 11) we're transitioning to the offensive side of the ball. While it isn't quite as top-heavy, there are plenty of future Power Four playmakers on that side of the ball as well. As a note, this class is loaded with two-way athletes. I included athletes here only if I believe they'll ultimately play on the offensive side of the ball in college.

Our top-ranked offensive player in the state, Dollar surged up our rankings with a strong spring. He's actually a two-way player with potential at edge rusher, but his highest upside is as a massive tight end, a role he plays well for East Lincoln. He has huge leaping ability and looks like a man amongst boys when the ball is in the air. His pure athleticism gives him serious upside as a potentially elite college tight end.

Brown's combination of speed and power is tantalizing for college coaches and he's a candidate to be one of the top backs in the country. His contact balance and ability to quickly get up to top speed make him a home run threat, even if he didn't have a ton of volume on a loaded offense. He's safely our top back in the state and I'm interested to see if his recruitment takes off again after an initial early surge.

Roberts' ability to operate between the numbers as an outside receiver makes him one of the more college-ready receivers in the state. He has great size and ball skills, but his best trait is his ability to stem routes and then break off to create separation. Because of his skill set, he's a candidate to moonlight as a "big slot" at the next level and his ability to play all three receiver positions should excite college coaches.

Dillon isn't going to be a volume guy on Southern's run-heavy offense, but he sure can take the top off a defense. Dillon averaged 21 yards a catch last season, scoring seven touchdowns over the course of the season. He does a great job of making himself available for the ball and he's a long-strider, moving faster that it looks on film.

A possession receiver with decent size, Oliveira operates primarily out of the slot and has a great feel for finding space in the middle of the field. He has great body control and good power after the catch, giving him the ability to break initial tackles and pick up extra yards immediately after the catch. I'd like to try to scout him in person, as I'm not sure some of his route-running nuance comes through on film and I'd love to see what he can do in that aspect of his game.

A two-way player, Shelton will likely make his home on the offensive side of the ball as a receiver in college. He's so athletic, as evidenced by his ability to play edge rusher on defense and his talent after the catch at receiver. While he's still learning the position, 6'3" and 190 pounds with speed and power tends to translate to the next level.

Carmack is a wide receiver/tight end tweener who has blown up on the recruiting trail in recent weeks, earning dozens of FBS offers. The production hasn't come yet, but he's young and he should have plenty of opportunities in the fall. He's made some noise on the 7-on-7 circuit this spring with his incredible leaping ability and strong hands, and he should continue to turn heads throughout his high school career.

Hawkins flew up not only our board, but the boards of college coaches, as he moved from outside the top 100 to the top 22 in the class on Prep Redzone, also earning several FBS offers in the last few months. A more traditional in-line tight end, Hawkins is an excellent blocker with some untapped receiving potential. That makes him a candidate to continue to rise thanks to his athleticism and potential.

Our top-rated quarterback in the 2027 class, Nichols would be a five-star type of prospect if he were six inches taller. Still, Nichols has all the tools. The ball jumps out of his hand, even with a quick, compact delivery and his footwork is far ahead of what we've come to expect from rising juniors. It only adds to his profile that he's a true dual-threat, running for over 600 yards and throwing just four picks as a sophomore.

Another one of Rolesville's talented receivers, Kearney's ranking is mostly speculative right now. Physically, he has all the tools to be elite, but injuries have marred his transfer to Rolesville from Palisades, where he played extensively as a freshman. Still, he has the physical profile to be an elite prospect, with a great wingspan, speed, and the frame to put on good weight.
