The prospects did not disappoint, and the camp showcased a plentiful amount of athletes that stood out that will be covered through the week.
One QB that shined across the radar was [player_tooltip player_id='1543013' first='Reed' last='Creighton'], the lone underclassman of the blue group that caught all of our attention throughout the camp. Creighton plays like a natural in the pocket, showing great release and was one of the most accurate passers through the showcase, especially during the routes-on-air portion of showcase. Creighton had been a consistent standout within the 612 QB's program throughout the winter, and he looked sharp throughout the showcase. Creighton is a name that should be on the rise as he continues to gain reps under Center going forward for Belle Plaine.

[player_tooltip player_id='1491934' first='Joseph' last='Mapson'] is one of the most unique athletes that I've seen through the MN high school football landscape for how equally effective he's been as both a pocket passer and as a dual-threat. Mapson's passing mechanics shined during the showcase, showing a great throwing motion, fully rotating his hips and driving off the back foot. Mapson had a nice combination of floaters and quick slings that hit nearly all of his targets. Mapson is clearly making progression in his passing mechanics this offseason, and that could translate in a big way on the field in 2025.

Nick Stellrecht was the lone QB in this group that did not play for Minnesota, but rather for Wisconsin. Stellrecht immediately got my attention with his impressive frame and raw power. Stellrecht was slinging the ball well throughout the showcase, hitting his targets well. I was really impressed with his deep throwing ability, and he seemed to always put the ball in the right spot to where only his receiver could go up and make a play on it. Stellrecht will look to finish off his run at New Richmond by leading his team toward a run for the state title after coming just short last season.

One QB that I kept a close eye on throughout the camp was Buffalo's [player_tooltip player_id='1201408' first='Grant' last='Benson'], one of the more familiar names that attended this camp. Benson had a tall and clear presence within this group. He throws with a solid spiral and had plenty of moments where he looked accurate and sharp. After an up-and-down first year as starter for Buffalo, Benson gained a boost of confidence with this solid performance during the showcase. Benson will be a name that you should keep on your radar this season, as he could be a dark horse contender to have a breakout campaign in 2025.

Garrett Lidke had one of the best arms of any QB that I watched during this showcase. Lidke has a commanding presence under Center, and he delivered the ball to his receivers well, showing great power and zip on his release. Lidke has a natural pocket presence, though he clearly has athletic potential as he did a lot of rolling out of the pocket last season. Lidke is another underrated name that could turn heads and generate buzz heading into his senior season.

Despite coming off a wrist injury last season, [player_tooltip player_id='592128' first='Peyton' last='Meyers'] hasn't skipped a beat as he looked sharp on Sunday. Meyers threw the ball well, showing solid power and quick release on his throws while hitting nearly every one of his powers. Meyers threw a lot of back-shoulder passes where his receiver adjusted to make the play, giving a good display of his arm strength, though there were a couple passes where he threw a back-shoulder pass on a quick route aimed inside that seemed needless. Nevertheless, Meyers is looking a lot better coming off the injury and hopefully will stay healthy in 2025 to have a big year.

One thing that immediately stood out to me when I watched [player_tooltip player_id='1120576' first='Savy' last='Vath'] throw was his unique sidearm. This throwing motion may have had an awkward look, but it was effective as he displayed good power and a quick release on his throws. Vath was accurate on his short passes and he did a nice job progressing the ball down the field and hitting some nice floaters on his longer passes. Vath can improve a bit on his deep accuracy, but as he showed in 2024, the potential is clearly there for Vath, and he should be one of the most exciting QBs to watch in Minnesota heading into the 2025 season.
