ROCK HILL | Charlotte is just a short 30-minute drive up I-77 from the Manchester Meadows Soccer Complex, and there was plenty of talent from the Tar Heel State that came down to compete. In the end, it was Camp Hustle (pictured above) that walked away with the 18U crown on Sunday afternoon.

West Charlotte talent shines for Camp Hustle

Wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1157260' first='KD' last='Cotton'] was a key contributor for Team Hustle throughout the day. He made an excellent pass breakup to force Christian Royce off the field. He made the first touchdown catch of the afternoon after that. We were impressed with the size of the young man and the way he runs routes and finds the green grass. He gets up field quickly once he makes the catch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1299433' first='Donte' last='Nicholson'] made a great acrobatic catch on a two-point conversion. He is a teammate of Cotton at West Charlotte and was offered by Coastal Carolina University on Saturday. He showcased his great speed and ability to go get the ball on multiple occasions.

King Coble will be a rising senior for West Charlotte, and he was another guy that caught our eye during the afternoon session on Sunday. He made a great catch on the slant against man coverage on a solid throw from his quarterback, [player_tooltip player_id='1321007' first='Jamouri' last='Nichols']. Coble made another contested catch, showing great concentration in the process. He runs great routes at full speed, like on a go route, where he ran right underneath it for a score in the semifinals against Blitz.

Additional Standouts from Sunday's 18U session

[player_tooltip player_id='1332065' first='Ethan' last='Dempsey'] was a constant target for the G7 Charlotte team, as no one could guard him. He made his presence felt early as he made an excellent catch near the right corner of the end zone. That was the first of six touchdown receptions on the day. He can climb the ladder to make catches and he finds a way to get open. It's why ECU and Gardner Webb have offered. We have a feeling his offer list will grow as he heads into his senior year at Mount Pleasant.

G7 Charlotte quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='612118' first='Brody' last='Norman'] of Mooresville has an impressive spin on his throws. He is accurate and can get the ball to his receivers. Another one of the receivers that he got it to was Marcus Sails, who sat in the zone well to make a catch and caught a fade in the endzone.

[player_tooltip player_id='1305405' first='Jerrell' last='Crawford'] has a rocket for an arm, and that was on display for the Tre4 Tigers team. He led a touchdown drive on the first series. Later he threw a bullet where his receiver was able to run right underneath it for a wide open score.

[player_tooltip player_id='402509' first='Trevor' last='Kalisz'] of the SC Outlaws was another quarterback who caught our eye, who made an excellent read to the back corner on one throw when his first read wasn't there. Jonathan Mitchell made a diving catch on one touchdown.

[player_tooltip player_id='429920' first='Sam' last='Holliday'] shined on Saturday and again on Sunday afternoon. He threw one ball on a rope where only his wide receiver could get it, right over top of the defender's head. The ball placement was excellent.

And lastly, it was another solid day for Brendan Raven, who made a nice catch with a defender draped on him and ripped the ball away from a defender. His quarterback, [player_tooltip player_id='1610601' first='Cole' last='Cater'] did a nice job of going through his progressions and making solid reads. He put one corner route on a line, showing pinpoint accuracy in the process.
