When your first-ever college football offer comes from new North Carolina Head Coach Bill Belichick, well it says you are doing something right. And Kaden definitely did a lot right in his first year in high school. Kaden came on in the middle of the season, helping his team come back and win a game in impressive fashion in the fourth quarter, coming off the bench. The rest you could say, is history. Kaden threw for nearly 1200 yards and 13 touchdowns while rushing for nearly 300 and another 4 touchdowns. Kaden has also been offered by Virginia Tech and Duke, and his future is a bright one. He will be someone we write about a lot over the next few years.

Stepping in for an injured talented senior player, Ryan showed why he is one of the most talented young quarterbacks in the state of North Carolina. In limited action (7 games) Ryan threw for nearly 1000 yards and 10 touchdowns on the season against some good competition in Charlotte. Looking at the film, Ryan really does a good job of getting the ball out on time in his drops. Ryan also can make throws to all levels of the field with confidence - he has been coached very well for such a young prospect. It will be fun to see him continue to develop and grow over the next couple of years.

When Draeton had a big yardage and touchdown game in the middle of the season, I made sure to keep tabs on him to make sure it wasn't just a flash in the pan. It definitely was not that, as Draeton finished the season throwing for over 1600 yards and completing 15 touchdown passes. This was only done in 8 games - throwing for over 200 yards per game as a Freshman is very impressive. On his film, Draeton plays with no fear as a pocket quarterback and makes throws with impressive confidence. I think playing under a new coach, it will be interesting to see how he can transition and continue to grow as a player, but he has some real talent.

We are continuing the string of impressive production for freshman varsity quarterbacks as Lucas threw for 1451 yards and 19 touchdowns in only 8 games. The more impressive stat here is that he only threw 5 interceptions - that shows some excellent decision-making and ball placement as a thrower already. Lucas set a single-game school record with 6 touchdown passes in one game - and Cannon has had some very good quarterbacks in their history. Looking at the film, I think the most impressive I can say about Lucas is that he already knows how to climb the pocket, keep his eyes downfield, and make big throws for touchdowns or to keep the chains moving. His awareness is natural and next-level, and that is a special trait for a young quarterback, period.

The most impressive thing about Zamari is that as a freshman, he led a young Page team to the playoffs, something that is very rare for varsity freshmen quarterbacks to ever do. On the season, Zamari threw for a little over 700 yards and ten touchdowns. Zamari also showed some running ability, adding in 4 rushing touchdowns. Looking at the film, the Page staff did a good job giving Zamari a lot of half-field reads, and on the majority of those, Zamari made the correct read and delivered the football with good accuracy to allow his receivers to make plays. As he continues to grow physically, he will be able to drive the ball more consistently and widen the types of throws he can make. But, he makes good throws in clean pockets and is an efficient player right now.
