There are a number of players who I've been high on for a long time. A good number of those players were heavily overlooked for quite a while but have since earned their due offers. This article features seven prospects who I've been talking about for over a year, all of whom I pounded the table for long before they earned any college attention.

I'm super happy to see these guys going to great college programs. I'll be loosely following all of these players' college careers, and I expect them to continue developing well!

I discovered Lucas in early 2023, and immediately thought he was a promising prospect. Overall, I thought his Sophomore tape was solid, but he still had a ton of room to grow. Ever since I first wrote about Lucas, he's done nothing but improve. Namely, Lucas did something that I rarely see young offensive lineman do- bulk up. Lucas looks significantly bigger than he did two years ago, and that's a major factor as to why he's now signed with Grand Valley State. Plus, his tape is good as well. I wish I had watched Lucas more in person, but having pretty much only watched him on tape, I'd say I hit it big with getting on Lucas early.

I'm very excited to see what Lucas is able to accomplish at GVSU!

Although Zachary is undersized, his fundamentals blow most high school linemen out of the water. I was pounding the table for Zachary before he began receiving college attention, but it honestly didn't take long for colleges to notice. I know first hand that a LOT of D3s loved what Zachary had to offer. Again, not great measurables, but very good footwork, balance, and a good punch when pass blocking. Plus, he's agile- something that you need to be a successful interior lineman. Zachary impressed so much that he earned a spot at Davenport!

The first article featuring Isaac came from our General Manager, Jake Lemming. Jake quickly noted Isaac's long range and great play speed at Safety. I turned on the tape, and I saw the same thing. For years now, Isaac has been a "my guy". This past season, Isaac ramped up his role on offense and special teams.

I like what Isaac brings to the table on offense and special teams, but I love what he brings as a safety. He covers ground quickly has great play speed, and he's quite athletic. Oh- and he's stronger than most safeties as well. I've been singing Isaac's praises for a while, and I'm extremely happy that GVSU agreed!

Signed with Valpo

[player_tooltip player_id='1217527' first='Nathan' last='Fletcher'] was one of my premier 2024 offseason finds. His tape was quite raw, but I saw excellent size and strength that simply could not go unnoticed. Once I watched Nathan at camps, his upside shined, but his raw skillset shined just as much. Still, I knew that he was deserving of GLIAC attention, and he got it with an offer from Wayne State. Then, he got a little MAC attention with a PWO from Bowling Green State. Though Nathan was a guy that I knew not everyone liked, I had one GLIAC coach straight-up walk away from me once I mentioned his name.

So, Nathan is someone I'll take a little victory lap for. I still think his upside is as good as any, and I hope to see him produce at a high level at Valpo!

LB | [player_tooltip player_id='602239' first='Darekeo' last='Speech'] | Muskegon

Signed with Saginaw Valley State

Speech is someone I rarely saw in the offseason, but I really fell in love with his game during the 2023 postseason. In the postseason, I thought Darekeo had excellent play speed and especially stood out in pass coverage and outside runs. I don't have testing numbers, but from what I could tell, Darekeo had great explosiveness and good top speed. It was obviously enough for SVSU, because a few months after a Spring workout, they sent out an offer. Really excited to see what Darekeo is able to do at the next level!

WR | [player_tooltip player_id='602292' first='Matthew' last='Evans'] | Grand Blanc

Signed with Wayne State

Evans was someone I kept pounding the table for even when the recruiting attention was not there. I always loved Matthew's size, length, and his catch radius. Matthew proved early in his career that when he's open, he can deal some damage. Then, last offseason, Matthew really impressed at DB. The Davenport camp in particular is where I became uber-confident that yes, this IS a GLIAC prospect and I'm not going crazy.

Matthew got his attention a little late, and he's still a little underrated in my opinion. Excited to see what he's able to do at Wayne State!

LB/EDGE | [player_tooltip player_id='602430' first='Kade' last='Friesen'] | Rockford

Signed with Ferris State

Kade was the most frustratingly overlooked player of last offseason. It was obvious to anyone with eyes that Kade is a talented and explosive pass rusher, but most colleges cited that he's just an inch too short. I mean, come on. Thankfully, Kade was able to further bolster his stock by parlaying together a few amazing performances to start the 2024 season. He honestly outperformed my expectations, especially when playing off-ball. On October 4, Kade FINALLY earned his first GLIAC offer from Wayne State. A day later, he earned an offer from none other than the best team in Division II football- Ferris State. Big props to Ferris State for opening their eyes and securing Kade. I expect Kade to develop into a great DII player! Chances are, he'll be competing for National Championships!
