It’s been a long time coming for Lucas. A few years ago, I discovered Lucas. Back then, Lucas was an incredibly raw prospect who was working very hard to grow into a better player.
Now, Lucas is a much-improved player and he’s taking a chance on himself, committing to Grand Valley State. Lucas still needs to work a lot on his pass sets, but that should improve after a short while at GV. I’m not sure if Lucas actually received an offer from GV, but as long as he stays internally motivated, Lucas will develop into a great player. I hope Lucas is able to have a great senior season, and I hope he develops at GVSU!

Lucas is in a similar boat as JJ. Lucas has good size, he’s gotten stronger over the years, and his skill has improved from a year ago, but he just needs to improve a bit more before his recruitment takes off. Lucas has great potential but needs to improve on his agility, pad level, and overall pass blocking. Once he’s engaged with a defender, he does a good job at holding his block and driving the defender back. Some of his reps show good tenacity, power, and grit. It will take some work, but if Lucas can really make a push to improve this offseason, he could come into the summer and next fall as a legitimate college recruit.
