Isaac is still one of the best DBs in West Michigan. Week after week, he showed off elite speed, athleticism and football IQ. When I saw him in week 1, I felt like he was he was absolutely a GLIAC kid, and it looks like that was correct now that he is committed to GVSU. On top of his value in the secondary, he has demonstrated multiple times that he can be a very good returner in the kick and punt game. Isaac has a bright future and I’m looking forward to his success at Grand Valley!

Isaac is no stranger to anyone who has followed this site for awhile. We are super high on him, and as he has demonstrated on multiple occasions this season, he is well worth the watch! Isaac is a reactive and rangy safety who can track down runners or fly in for a PBU. Isaac is also an electrifying return man who could take any punt or kickoff to the house. I am looking forward to seeing what else the Grand Valley commit has in store for the rest of the season!

It’s difficult to crack Rockford’s starting lineup, and it’s a whole lot harder to be a three-year Varsity starter. But that’s exactly what Isaac is about to do this season. Last season, Isaac increased his role by taking up return duties. There, he flashed his as-advertised great quickness and top speed. This season, I fully expect Isaac to be much smarter and more effective in that area. On the defensive side of the ball, I’ve seen first-hand how Isaac can quickly diagnose a play and explode toward a thrown ball or running back. This season, I firmly believe that Isaac has an opportunity to post a lot more pass breakups and interceptions. For that to happen, he needs to be just a step more reactive. Currently, Grand Valley State and Ferris State seem to be in a recruiting battle for Isaac. My gut does say that he’s a high-tier D2 prospect, but with stellar performances this season, he could pass that D1 threshold.

Isaac is someone else who I’ve been impressed with for a while. A year ago, I loved his sophomore season tape and liked what I saw from him at the GVSU Prospect Camp. This year, I admittedly liked his Junior tape a little less. Though, I still know he’s an extremely valuable asset to the Rockford defense. On top of that, Isaac earned a Ferris offer, which is right at the level I expect him to play at.
I haven’t watched Isaac in person for a while, but I’ve seen him be a vocal leader as a Safety. Defending against the deep ball, Isaac can cover a ton of ground very quickly, oftentimes leading to a PBU. Next season, I’d love to see him gain another step and turn those PBUs into interceptions. Isaac also returns kicks and can play offense when asked. He’s 100% a GLIAC prospect and I think the whole GLIAC could be after him if he has a breakout season.

Isaac is still someone I have a whole lot of belief in. During his sophomore season, he proved he could be a rangy, playmaking safety. This past season, he exploded onto the scene as one of the best special teamers in Michigan. Watching him at a 7on7 last summer, Isaac was a vocal signal caller on defense. Now, this coming summer and fall, I’d love to see him return to form as a playmaking Safety. I’d love to see better reactivity/anticipation while making more plays on the football when he has the opportunity to do so. I’d also fully expect Isaac to earn some offers this Summer. He’s a GLIAC guy in my book.

Isaac gets my imaginary game ball for Rockford. He was everywhere on defense, and he was really putting his team in good position on kicks and punts. Defensively there are so many good qualities. He is physical with receivers and does a great job of reading the play. From the safety position, he was more than willing to come downhill to stop the run as well. On special teams, he returned a kickoff for a TD and was close to popping a couple more punts and kicks. It was a spark they desperately needed and he was able to provide that, even when they didn’t capitalize on it every time.

Isaac is an extremely athletic guy in the secondary, who has great quickness, can stay lockstep with receivers, and can come downhill in the run game. He mainly is roaming about as a safety, and I think that suits him nicely. He reacts quickly, has fantastic closing speed, and he brings some solid hits to separate receiver from ball. Can’t wait to see him in person and finally get a good read on him!
