Similar to the evaluation above, Ryan has a lot more offensive highlights than defensive.
Against Grandville, Ryan played a very good defensive game. He consistently showcased good anchor and awareness, successfully forcing runs inside and filling the correct gap. Offensively, Ryan’s highlights consistently demonstrate great physicality, contact balance, and overall grit. Rockford’s roster is always gigantic, and they always seem to be very senior-heavy when it comes to starters. Next season, I’m hoping to see Ryan break the starting lineup as an off-ball LB. I know he has the play speed and physicality to do so.

Any time a sophomore can crack the rotation at Rockford, it automatically puts me on notice. After checking Ryan’s tape, it looks like he did exactly that, and really maximized his reps. Overall, I see a physical off ball linebacker with a nose for the ball.
Multiple times in his film, I see Ryan scrape and fight through blocks on the way to the play. He has no problem initiating contact and knocking the blocker off balance and continue on. I love that he has the aggression and physicality to stop that inside run, and also has a few decent pass reps as well, though downhill is definitely his best ability. I will be excited to see his role expand and grow within the Ram defense.

, someone who had a sneaky-good season for Rockford, who played good Varsity minutes as a sophomore.
The first play I want to mention is at 0:53. Ryan comes in on the blitz, absolutely destroys the blocking RB, and forces a QB pressure. Next, he has a solid inside run stop from Hudsonville. Then, at 1:10, another good stop against Hudsonville.
I like what I see- Ryan is obviously a very physical linebacker. Though, I’d like to see a bit better play speed and decisiveness in the future. Do that, and Ryan will be a great college prospect in the spring of 2026.
