It's always nice to get out to some of these workouts in the Winter. This time of year, things are frankly pretty dead in the HSFB world. Colleges are still trying to finalize staff, winter sports are in full swing, and you can't walk outside for over 30 minuites without getting frostbite. So, any opportunity to get a look at some QBs is welcome. Today, I'll share some very brief notes regarding yesterday's training session with QualityQBs.

Man, what a massive improvement from Eli! Since the last session I attended, Eli has gotten significantly better in just about every area. Athletically, he's a lot more fluid, and he's beginning to nail down his footwork. His upper-body mechanics have also improved, and he's beginning to push the ball downfield with minimal effort. Experience, in addition to his improved athletic ability and mechanics, is contributing to overall better accuracy. Eli was one of the more accurate QBs at this session. He still needs to shorten up his throwing motion, as it was the slowest out of the group. Still, Eli has improved tremendously, and it's shaping out to be a fun year for the Montrose QB.

Jake did his thing yesterday. Not a whole lot to say that hasn't already been said. Love the mechanics, love the accuracy, and I think his IQ is criminally underrated. I love the fit with Western Carolina, and I think he's going to end up being a steal for that program.

'27 | [player_tooltip player_id='1589490' first='Anderson' last='Adams'] | Lake Orion

Anderson was the most impressive QB at the workout, hands-down. He checks a lot of boxes. 6'3" 200 with long limbs, a rocket arm, lightning-quick throwing motion, and good accuracy. Man, I love his upside. Last season, Anderson put up some good highlights, but played a bit inconsistently. This offseason, there's no doubt in my mind that Anderson will have colleges looking at him (as long as he shows up to a handful of events). If I were a decision-maker for a D2 program, I'd have a very close eye on Anderson.

'27 | Alex Waszcenko | Clarkston

No big surprises from Alex. This is a QB that I've seen several times over the years, and someone who took a major leap from 2024 to 2025. The biggest boxes Alex checks are athletic ability and arm talent. Alex is a legit athlete and can be a dual-threat QB in college. Plus, he sports a quick trigger and does good work off-platform. Though Alex still struggles a bit regarding accuracy. His throws were all catchable, but many of them were slightly off the mark.

'28 | [player_tooltip player_id='1684961' first='Jake' last='DeWitt'] | Grand Blanc

I'm extremely excited to see what [player_tooltip player_id='1684961' first='Jake' last='DeWitt'] accomplishes at Grand Blanc next season. You watch him, and he's neck-and-neck with every other QB on this list. Yet, he's the only QB who hasn't started on Varsity. He throws the ball very similarly to [player_tooltip player_id='909904' first='Jake' last='Morrow'], and I'd expect a similar play style as well.

'26 | [player_tooltip player_id='566987' first='Ryland' last='Watters'] | Central Michigan Commit

Zero new info regarding Rino's abilities. He still has a good arm, is still accurate, and is still a very well-built athlete. Only difference? He's now a Central Michigan Chippewa. Flipped from Ferris State, Rino is set to compete with a highly improved Central Michigan team. The CMU QB room is quite thin compared to some other colleges, giving Rino a great opportunity to stand out early.
