What a day it was at the Prep Redzone WI Winter Showcase in Oak Creek, WI. 160+ student athletes from across WI and even a few beyond gathered to compete, learn, and have some fun in front of scouts and college coaches. The student athletes showed up too. From testing to individual drills to 1 on 1 competitions we were seeing a lot of memorable moments. At the end of it all, the coaching staffs came together and named the MVP for every position group. In today's article we are going to go through the performance of each MVP and what they did to earn the honor. We start with an elite talent at QB.

I would have to go back through past events, but I believe freshman [player_tooltip player_id='998519' first='JJ' last='Chapman'] is our first ever multi-Showcase MVP. He split the honor in the spring, and on Sunday took it home for himself. The wild part is JJ just got cleared to start using his injured foot earlier this week, so he didn't partake in any of the athletic testing. Once we flipped to the football drills and 1 on 1 battles where he could stand and throw there was no question he was the premier talent in the group. JJ is developing a skill set that checks every box. He can hit every throw with the necessary touch or velocity to every level of the field. His pinpoint accuracy continues to get even better. Some of the dimes the freshman dropped to his receiver were college quality throws. On one leg, the freshman QB came out and was lights out throwing the football. I'm pumped to watch him continue to push his game to new heights.

Junior RB [player_tooltip player_id='1570966' first='Vidal' last='Spivey'] put together an outstanding performance during Session 1 of the Showcase. Going through my notes from his day, there were multiple times where I noted how sudden and twitchy the RB was. Vidal is blessed with explosive agility and change of direction. The junior really let that shine in RB drills and in the 1 on 1s. His balance and quick feet allowed him to run crisp routes and leave LBs trying to just stay close in coverage. With the ball in his hands, Vidal also showed how elusive he is with his acceleration and agility. The junior is a playmaker who thrives with the ball in space or as a receiver out of the backfield. Get this kid on your radars this offseason.

Junior WR/ATH [player_tooltip player_id='1570914' first='Kaden' last='Yaeger'] grabbed my attention from the start. He started the day off with a 9'3" broad jump on one of his attempts. Then went on to the position drills and demonstrated how talented he really is on the football field. Kaden has excellent body control, allowing him to attack route breaks with speed in and out of them. He has quick feet and also showed off impressive hands. In the one on ones is where WRs really get to separate. Kaden stood out from the crowd with his impressive concentration and ball tracking on the deep shots. He flashed strong hands to hang onto the ball through traffic and contact. The junior playmaker was a mismatch out wide and he needs to start hitting the radars of college programs.

I was impressed when I watched Hayden in person during the season, and getting another look at the junior TE has left a lasting impression. First off, Hayden has elite size for the TE position at 6'6" 220 lbs and the big man plays with it so comfortably. The TE is able to move and change direction with surprising ease at his size thanks to body control, balance, and footwork. In the season we got to watch him to a lot of work as a blocker. At the showcase we got to see what he can do as a receiver. Hayden fits the mold of a dominant TE recruit. He is a smooth route runner who can quickly get up the seam with his long strides. The junior is able to quickly locate the ball and use his immense size to box out DBs. It was also great to see the TE be a consistent hands catcher away from his body. Hayden is one of the top TEs returning in 2026.

What a day for the junior OL out of Oconomowoc. We first met Patrick at the Eau Claire Big Man Camp last summer, and looking at where he is now compared to them is very exciting. Patrick has made massive leaps in his development from on the field skill to his overall body. Roeker checks in at 295 lbs yet has built frame with muscular definition. Something you don't see much at all at the HS level. In action, Patrick looks so comfortable. He has confidence in his feet and athleticism to be able to keep him square in front of pass rushers as they bend the edge or counter move. The body control on top of his feet build the base for excellent reactive athleticism. Plus his heavy hands quickly controlled where his man went during the 1 on 1 battles. Patrick is one of the top linemen to know in the Class of 2026. It was a great day for him.

I wrote that Harrison was one of the athletes I was most excited to watch at camp a couple days before the Showcase, but the junior DL was still able to exceed my hopes and expectations. He started the day with a 9'2" broad jump and that was just the tip of the iceberg when it came to him showing how explosive he is. Harrison is undersized as a DL, but that didn't stop him from dominating the day. The junior DE is blessed with not just explosive athleticism, but also explosive power. As soon as he springs out of his stance the Harrison was loaded up with power. In 1 on 1s he was a legitimate nightmare to face because he could power through the hands of OL, played with good bend and leverage, and also showed his own strong hands. Walker proved to be a difference maker at camp, and you will see in his film that he was just as much of a game wrecker on the field in live action. Take a look at this kid. He will fit somewhere on your defense.

I was pumped when I saw Cayden on the list of attendees before the Showcase. He is coming off a sophomore season where he finished Top 3 in tackles in the state in just 10 games. Cayden is one of the best at flying around the field and quickly diagnosing plays. So at camp I wanted to that reactive athleticism and overall movement skills on display. Safet to say Cayden impressed. I was very impressed by how efficient he is with his movements. We never saw false steps or wasted motion. Everything he did seemed to have a purpose. That efficiency and good angles and smart decisions allowed him to matchup up against even the twitchy RBs in coverage and be able to break up passes. Cayden further solidified his talents as a three down LB with his performance. Get on this kid early.

Parker crushed the day, especially when we got to the positional drills and the 1 on 1 battles. The junior DB possesses impressively quick feet in his backpedal, when transitioning or changing direction, and when running downfield. The speed is there to be able to cover the go route and stay right in his man's pocket. Parker showed off the closing speed to recover or to get to the catch point in time to break up passes. Rode's lightning quick athleticism paired perfectly with his quick route recognition, allowing him to make so many plays while running stride for stride with his man. Parker is an exciting prospect that is going to turn a lot of heads at camps over the next 8 months.
