The offensive line group at the Prep Redzone WI Winter Showcase was off the charts. I firmly believe we had D1 level talent along with outstanding depth with several kids that will be playing at the D2 and D3 levels as well. Size, power, length & massive hands, plus movement skills that truly set linemen apart from the crowd. Leading the way in this group was the very talented, and quickly developing [player_tooltip player_id='1570946' first='Patrick' last='Roeker'] out of Oconomowoc. Check out our breakdown of his day in the MVP article. For the rest of the dominant performers keep on reading!

One of the best athletes of the day was sophomore OT [player_tooltip player_id='1570948' first='Peyton' last='Schuster']. Peyton is 6'6" 267 lbs with nearly a 6'9" wingspan and 9.75" hands. The frame looks like that of a future D1 recruit. What solidifies that thought is how natural and comfortably Peyton plays at that size. He has excellent flexibility that allows him to play low and gain leverage even while being one of the taller kids in the group. It looked easy for Peyton to mirror the edge rushers throughout the day in 1 on 1 battles. His blend of size, athleticism, agility, and strength are some of the best in WI, especially for his Class. Get him on your boards, right now.

Maxx was an athlete I couldn't wait to see in person. The junior out of northern WI delivered on my high expectations. He checked in at 6'4" 275 lbs with a 6'9" wingspan and 10" hands. All those numbers fit the look of a high level OL. In the testing portion the big man had a sub 5.00 shuttle time proving that he can move that mass with ease and efficiency. In the season, Spring Valley ran the ball a lot, so I was excited to see how Maxx handled pass protection. The kid was a natural, steering his edge rusher with his big strong hands, and doing a great job of getting good depth vs speed but not getting caught out of position or reaching. He was patient with his strikes and those strikes were strong when they landed, usually putting his opponent on the ground. Maxx has such a high ceiling from where he is currently at. Big things are ahead for him. Don't miss out on this kid.

Junior OL [player_tooltip player_id='1210315' first='Brett' last='Kopp'] of Plum City was the biggest offensive lineman of the Showcase. He measured in at 6'5" 308 lbs with a 6'9" wingspan and almost 11" hands. Even as the largest lineman, Brett was able to finish in the middle of the pack in all the athletic testing. The junior plays with outstanding anchor strength and overall power. It was on display over and over in 1 on 1s from the IOL where he completely overpowered and overwhelmed his opponents with his size and power. Brett also caught my eyes with his short area foot quickness. Kopp will definitely be someone to keep an eye on during the camp circuit next spring/summer.

One of the top linemen in the Class of 2026 came out to the Showcase and proved that he is even better than he was in the spring. Sam is 6'5" 272 lbs with a 6'7" wingspan and 10.5" hands. All excellent size metrics for the junior lineman. Even more impressive, Sam had a Top 3 L-Drill time among all OL at the showcase. That was one step in proving how well rounded the junior's game is. He can do the athletic things, mirroring athletic pass rushers out at OT, getting great depth vs speed, and easily overpowering his opponent if they let him get into their chests. Sam is an OL that can win with power or athleticism. He checks a lot of the boxes you look for in a top OL recruit. Get this kid high up on your radars.

A sophomore loaded up with potential is the varsity starter out of Cedarburg. Grady has 6'4" frame and wingspan with 234 lbs on his frame and plenty of room to add size to be a viable college OL recruit between the rest of his HS career and his early years in college. Grady is a natural athlete. Watching his tape it jumps off the tape as he is able to easily cover ground in space or attack level 2. Thom's feet also made him a winner in the 1 on 1 battles. He was able to quickly gain leverage and get his hands on to control where the DL attacked. Grady is an OL with the potential to have a breakout year as he continues to grow during these next couple years.

One of the 2026s who caught our eyes during the season and further solidified our positive thoughts on his game with his camp performance is Indian Trail's [player_tooltip player_id='1570834' first='Brendan' last='Grabot']. The '26 is now 6'4" 270 lbs with a 6'6" wingspan and almost 11" hands. Size and mass to play at the next level, and where he sets himself apart from the typical big bodied OL is that Brendan is an athlete on the OL. The '26 OL does a great job of keeping a wide base that is loaded up to absorb bull rushers. While ready to counteract power, Grabot is able to play on nimble feet that can mirror pass rush moves and change direction wit counter moves. Brendan also did a great job of playing with his hands and accurately striking them. Get this kid on your radars early this offseason.

A Need-to-Know OL recruit in the Class of 2028 is Oconomowoc's [player_tooltip player_id='1570898' first='Jacob' last='Van Der Kooy']. Jacob already looks the part of a top OL recruit with his 6'4" 282 lbs body. With that elite frame comes a 6'7" wingspan and almost 12" hands that allowed him to make first contact all day long in 1 on 1s. That initial contact and huge hands let him get a solid initial punch or clamp onto his man and keep them right in front of him. Jacob is definitely still growing into that frame and adding strength to it. So I'm expecting big strides in his movement traits over this offseason. The natural tools are plentiful with this freshman and his ceiling is very high.

Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1570930' first='Malik' last='Collins'] is coming off a season where he ended the year as a varsity starter for one of the best teams in the Racine/Milwaukee area. He is a 5'11" 267 lbs interior OL who thrives with his strength and short area burst. Collins has shown he is quick to get hands on with his 6'1.25" wingspan and quick feet out of his stance. Malik carries impressive strength in his hands and lower body to be able to stuff bull rushers and if you watch his tape you will see him create that positive movement in the trenches. Definitely have this freshman on your radars.

One of the most impressive overall freshmen check-ins was from Arrowhead OL [player_tooltip player_id='1570846' first='Carter' last='Fromstein']. The '28 has a 6' 245 lbs frame with nearly a 6'3" wingspan and massive 11" hands. Carter held his own in the 1 on 1 trench battles too. He was able to quickly set out of his stance and has an excellent base of strength to be able to get those massive mitts on the DL and take away their initial power move. The freshman moved his feet pretty well too, but is going to get even better there as he grows and grows into his frame. The early signs from size, length, and strength have me very excited for what Carter's future holds.

The 5'10" 267 lbs sophomore is coming off a season that saw him have a role on the varsity OL. Cole had one of the fastest shuttle times with a 4.97 and that balance, burst, and change of direction flashed beyond the testing portion of the day. Cole is a solid athlete who is able to consistently gain the leverage advantage and the overall positioning battle to slow down pass rushers. I'm excited to watch him round out his game with more development in his strength. Glad the sophomore is on my radar.

Another freshman putting himself on the map was De Pere's [player_tooltip player_id='1570891' first='Ian' last='Damsheuser']. The 5'10" 238 lbs '28 is another currently undersized lineman with hints of a larger frame on the way. Ian has a 6'3" wingspan and he has 10" hands. Ian battled hard vs the majority older competition. He showed a solid anchor and could move himself laterally to cut off DL at a pretty successful rate. Ian is just starting to tap into his potential. Keep an eye on the '28.

Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='1570944' first='Owen' last='Wall'] is an athlete I will be keeping an eye on. He currently checks in at 5'10" 195 lbs, but we have seen plenty of outstanding growth spurts from freshman to sophomore year. Between his 6' wingspan and 10" hands there are strong signs that there is still growth to be reached. Even at his current size, Owen put up a fight. He got himself in position, got hands on, and kept his feet moving throughout his battles. It was great having the freshman out and putting himself on the radar early in his career.
