When it comes to these articles we try to shine the spotlight on the uncommitted athletes. However, I had to include Brett in this one because I’m not sure there was an athlete that put together a better summer or one that saw his effort pay off like Brett did. Kopp put in the time and miles this summer, hitting up camp after camp and usually leaving each with at least one new offer. The small-school standout demonstrated elite consistency with his ability to show up and dominate the competition. His size, power, hand use, and feet stood out from the crowd all summer long. Sioux Falls has a good one coming to town next season. I can’t wait to see some Friday night action from the big man.

We wrap up with an athlete who I have been able to watch blow up in person. I have been able to see Brett at a couple camps already, and both times he left with new offers. His camp circuit started at UWEC for their Big Man Camp where he was able to earn offers from Winona State and then eventually from Duluth about a week later. Brett would also earn an offer from the host team, UWEC Blugolds. Add in a Sioux Falls offer between camps as well. Then the rising ’26 OL impressed at the Minnesconsin Camp where he would leave with offers from Augustana, and Upper Iowa. Brett has quickly proven that he has the skills to play at the D2 level and eventually work his way into a role for wherever he commits. The big man isn’t done with camps either, so he may see plenty more teams join the pursuit for his talents.

The biggest winner of the day in my eyes was

of Plum City. He checked in at 6’3″ 309 lbs with an elite 6’8″ wingspan. The big man proved he could move too with his 1.27 flying 10 at that size. Brett passed the eye test very quickly, and then we got to the live action with pads popping and the ’26 quickly established his dominance. Brett is able to generate so much power on contact with his heavy, strong hands and how well he is able to run his feet through his man in the run game. Kopp’s quickness and ability to turn that quickness into power also stood out from the crowd. Everywhere Brett moved he moved with power that was ready to punish an opponent as soon as he made contact. The ’26 was able to earn an offer from Winona State following the event. A well deserved honor.

The small school lineman brings some big time talent to the trenches. On tape Brett is a big, violent offensive lineman. One that will punish his opponent every chance he can. He is at his best in the run game. That is where he can either go on the attack in the trenches and overpower DL or show that he can get out in space and land blocks on more elusive athletes. Brett’s power shows up on basically every clip as he bullies defensive linemen. Brett is big, heavy-handed, aggressive, and has some solid athleticism. It will be interesting to see how he does at camps.

of Plum City was the biggest offensive lineman of the Showcase. He measured in at 6’5″ 308 lbs with a 6’9″ wingspan and almost 11″ hands. Even as the largest lineman, Brett was able to finish in the middle of the pack in all the athletic testing. The junior plays with outstanding anchor strength and overall power. It was on display over and over in 1 on 1s from the IOL where he completely overpowered and overwhelmed his opponents with his size and power. Brett also caught my eyes with his short area foot quickness. Kopp will definitely be someone to keep an eye on during the camp circuit next spring/summer.

Brett caught my eyes a couple times. First, I was impressed by his 6’4″ 316 lbs frame and how there wasn’t an overabundance of bad weight on his frame. What impressed me even more was how he was able to overpower opponents in the one on one battles at camp with his ability to create power right from the point of contact with his OL opponent. So we had to go to the film to see how he looks in pads.
On tape we see that power over and over. Whether it is from his heavy hands staying active or from his bull rush that can collapse the pocket on a QB. Brett also has flashes of quickness leading to disruptive penetration into the backfield. It is clear he has the strength to anchor the DL, preventing the inside run game and eating up blocks. I’m excited to see the develop of the Elmwood/ Plum City athlete over the next two years.
