During this time of year, I dive deep into the rankings. Right now, I am 95% completed with Quarterback evaluations. I have three D1-graded QBs, four D2-graded QBs, four D3-graded QBs, and eight NAIA-graded QBs (all currently on rankings.

Today, I'll be going over all of my D1 and D2 graded QBs. Check out my grading criteria below for some context of what my grades mean!
"A+" - Superstar | "A" - P4 | "A-" - Fringe P4 | "B+" - MAC | "B" - High-end D2 | "B-" - Middle D2 | "C+" - Low D2 | "C" - High-end D3 | "C-" - D3 | "D+" - NAIA | D or Below - Below Average

So, in other words, ALL of these QBs are well above-average in all areas. Please don't be discouraged if I give you a C (still fringe D2)

My current #1 Quarterback in the class of 2026 is [player_tooltip player_id='568192' first='Tommy' last='Carr']. In short, he's the best all-around QB in the class. Plus, watching him closely against Dexter, I feel I have a good evaluation of Tommy. Here's how I grade him

Arm Talent: A-
Accuracy: B+
Processing: A
Playmaking: B+
Athleticism: B-
Mechanics: B+

Obviously, some very good grades. I graded his athleticism the lowest, just because he isn't someone who's a danger to rush 100 yards per game. Not a bad thing, just not a true dual-threat. Processing is Tommy's best trait- he's a student of the game and is such a good pocket passer. I also think his pocket presence is quite good.

Jake is currently my #2 or #3 quarterback in the class- expect a very close ranking with Jaxson come February. I think that Jake had a huge breakout year! Though, my opinion could change once I watch more tape- he's one of the only ranked QB I haven't watched in person in the past year.

Arm Talent: B
Accuracy: B
Processing: B
Playmaking: C+
Athleticism: C+
Mechanics: B

Keep in mind my explanation for each grade- Jake has very good scores even though you see B's and C's.

He's one of three quarterbacks with a processing grade above C+. Needless to say, I was extremely impressed with Jake's ability to play quickly and on time this season. Great in the quick game, seems to read defenses quickly, can fit the ball over LBs, etc. Some of these throws simply cannot be made consistently without good IQ. I do think he needs to work on his off-schedule abilities, and I don't have a very good handle on his pocket presence.

Jake is 150% good enough for any GLIAC team, and I'd say he's trending MAC.

Extremely impressive first season under center for Jaxson, but still a few things to work on.

Arm Talent: A-
Accuracy: C
Processing: C+
Playmaking: B
Athleticism: A
Mechanics: B+

Jaxson's two best traits are his arm talent and athleticism. Obviously, these are two extremely important traits when it comes to being recruited. Jaxson can launch the ball 30+ yards downfield with a simple flick of the wrist. Plus, he's one of the most athletic QBs I've ever seen.

Processing is good, but not amazing. Away from his first read, he struggles. Playmaking can also be improved. He's a good scrambler, but could improve on contact balance and vision.

Finally, I have a high-end D3 grade for his accuracy. Just too many misses on throws. He has the arm talent and the processor; just needs to be a tad more consistent.

Kayd is the first on this list that I have a D2 grade on. He's a good pro-style quarterback but doesn't excel in the areas required for me to call him a D1 guy.

Arm Talent: B
Accuracy: B-
Processing: B-
Playmaking: C
Athleticism: C
Mechanics: B

I liked what I saw from Kayd in his game against Hudsonville. Good pro-style passing, good timing on quick throws, and did not put the ball in harm's way. Plus, a couple of very accurate deep balls.

Like I said, he's a pro-styler passer. Not super athletic, not a big threat on the ground, and doesn't typically like to run outside of the pocket.
I expect East Kentwood to be better next year than they were this year. Because of that, I also expect Kayd to have his best season yet.

Andrew is someone who I now view as a Division 2 prospect. I know he earned a few D1 offers early in his high school career, and I still think he's a great QB, but I frankly haven't seen a ton of growth over the years.

Arm Talent: B-
Accuracy: C+
Processing: B-
Playmaking: A-
Athleticism: B
Mechanics: B

He remains one of the best all-around QBs in Michigan. I really like his processing, I like his off-schedule playmaking, and he has few true weaknesses. His overall accuracy and big-throw ability can be improved upon. My gut is that he'll one day be a great GLIAC quarterback or work his way up on a MAC roster.

Shockingly, a first-year starter for a small school team has a fringe D2 grade. Now, I'm not incredibly confident in my evaluation since I haven't seen him compete in the offseason yet, but I have seen him play two games in person.

Arm Talent: C
Accuracy: B
Processing: C
Playmaking: C-
Athleticism: C-
Mechanics: C+

Accuracy is the area I'm most impressed with. Sam is consistent, accurate, and hits his receivers in stride at every area of the field. In his games against Grand Rapids Catholic Central and Frankenmuth, I don't think I saw him throw a single inaccurate ball. In that game against Frankenmuth (state championship), Sam went 15-21 with 293 yards, 4TDs, and 0INTs.

The big question comes with his processing. My grade is mostly based on a gut feeling- he could blow people out of the water this offseason. We just don't know yet.

Right now, I'd say Sam is 50/50 on being a D2 prospect. Great size, great season, great accuracy, but unproven in the offseason.

During this time of year, I dive deep into the rankings. Right now, I am 95% completed with Quarterback evaluations. I have three D1-graded QBs, four D2-graded QBs, four D3-graded QBs, and eight NAIA-graded QBs (all currently on rankings.
