2025 Jefferson RB [player_tooltip player_id='907161' first='Tay'Shaun' last='Roper'] had an electric performance against Cabell Midland in the first round of the playoffs. The senior speedster showcased his dynamic playmaking ability with 228 rushing yards and 41 receiving yards with 4 total touchdowns. The Knights simply couldn't contain the quick and shifty Roper who found the sideline early and often. He also did a nice job bursting through between the tackles as well and showed great footwork and change of direction ability.

[player_tooltip player_id='1137687' first='Brennan' last='Wack'] is having as good of a coming-out party as you can have at a new position this season and continued to excel at RB in a rematch against Musselman in the Patriots' first playoff win since winning the State Championship in 2015. Wack had an efficient night carrying the ball 10 times for 163 yards and 3 touchdowns. He's added good size since playing receiver last season with the speed to score from anywhere on the field. Wack has maintained his fluidity from his receiver days and has displayed quality footwork and make-you-miss ability in his debut season at running back.

2025 George Washington RB [player_tooltip player_id='907163' first='Sai'Vyon' last='Brown'] nearly willed the Patriots to an upset win over Hurricane in the opening round of the playoffs. The senior running back totaled over 100 rushing yards and totaled 2 touchdowns while also catching one in the 14-13 heartbreaker. Brown made the most of his touches in the game and seemingly made a big play every time the ball found him. He's an elusive runner with game-breaking speed who produced a tremendous senior season rushing for over 1,200 yards and double-digit touchdowns.

[player_tooltip player_id='908993' first='David' last='Fennessy'] continues to have a big year at running back for the Scott Skyhawks in a new role for the senior. Ranked as a LB, Fennessy is having a great season at running back and carried the load in Scott's revenge win over Wayne in the opening round of the playoffs. He rushed for 151 yards and totaled 5 touchdowns in the 40-12 victory on top of his usual prowess at linebacker. Fennessy is a physically imposing runner who maximizes his frame which translates to many broken arm tackles and defenders on the wrong end of him lowering his shoulder.

2025 Wahama RB [player_tooltip player_id='907169' first='Connor' last='Lambert'] had a short night against Madonna but still managed to rush for 175 yards and 3 touchdowns on just 11 carries in one half of play. The electrifying senior now has nearly 2,000 yards and 37 touchdowns in limited playing time due to lopsided scores and is firmly in the mix for the Curt Warner Award as the state's best running back. Lambert can turn the corner with ease at the small school level and would likely do the same against bigger schools too. He's one of the fastest players in the state and that's apparent any time he touches the ball.

Princeton's [player_tooltip player_id='1200316' first='Daniel' last='Jennings'] is a P4 Edge prospect but had a dominant game on the ground in the Tigers' 63-9 win over Hampshire in the first round of the playoffs. The 2026 athlete totaled 6 touchdowns on the night with 5 coming on the ground as he rushed for 266 yards on 12 carries and added his 6th touchdown on a 73-yard reception. Jennings ran the ball very hard and showed his P4 athleticism once he got in space with homerun speed. His size and power also jumped out on film with many broken tackles inside the box before breaking free.

Our #1 2027 RB [player_tooltip player_id='864596' first='Jaden' last='Hatfield'] made history for South Harrison in their narrow defeat to Bluefield in round one. The sophomore running back broke Freddy Canary's single-season school rushing record and finished the season with 2,270 yards and 30 touchdowns in his debut season for the Hawks. Even in snowy conditions, Hatfield utilized host Princeton's turf field and displayed his game-breaking speed as he rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown. The ceiling is high for this young running back with two more years of development to take his game even higher.
