Not surprised in the least bit with how good he was, his testing numbers alone were the best amongst the whole camp. He had everyone talking and with a number of college coaches on hand, the uncommitted senior shined. The fastest 40 on the day with both times nearly under 4.5 (4.43 was his best), Lambert was unanimously voted MVP.

You could see on hand what Matt Layton has been talking about for the past year, he is an explosive playmaker. Nobody could really run with him during the 1v1s portion and he was the leader in the individual drills. Lambert is going to make his future college very happy when he commits, the young man is ready to run through a brick wall.

While it seems that every Division 3 school in the state wants his services, I expect many Division 2 schools to start offering Lambert any minute.

The All state running back capped off an outstanding senior season and he could benefit greatly in front of many colleges coaches this Sunday. Checking thru his recruitment history, I am stunned he does not have more offers, he had over 50 touchdowns this past season! My guess is that coaches want to see what he can up close and personal and what better way than our Showcase to accomplish this.

Lambert is as electric of a small school athlete as you’re going to find in West Virginia and a generational talent at that level. He’s an uber-explosive athlete who can find the end zone any time he touches the ball and would put up big numbers at any level in the state. Colleges have caught on to his athletic abilities as he’s earned numerous opportunities this year with more likely to come. Lambert will be a fun gadget player to watch at the next level who’ll they’ll get the ball to in a variety of ways.

The electrifying senior now has nearly 2,000 yards and 37 touchdowns in limited playing time due to lopsided scores and is firmly in the mix for the Curt Warner Award as the state’s best running back. Lambert can turn the corner with ease at the small school level and would likely do the same against bigger schools too. He’s one of the fastest players in the state and that’s apparent any time he touches the ball.

He’s putting up the video game number that we expected from him as the best athlete in Class A, and Lambert is putting an exclamation point on his high school career as a senior. He’s averaging an incredible 18 yards per carry and has rushed for 1,239 yards and 25 touchdowns on just 68 carries while only playing in limited action due to scores. Lambert has generational speed at the small school level and is as elusive as he is fast. He can affect the game in every phase including in the passing game, defense, and as a returner on special teams. Lambert feels like the obvious choice for the Curt Warner Award as the state’s top running back if he stays healthy regardless of the level of competition he’s facing.

Lambert picked off 2 passes in the game and returned both of them to the house which was a big difference in the 48-24 victory to decide who the early season top team is in Class A. He’s making a case to be in the Kennedy Award discussion through the first two weeks of the season as the state’s top player.

Lambert had as good of a start to the game as you can have for a running back ripping off touchdown runs of 78 and 79 yards on his first two carries of the night. He averaged your “standard” 26 yards per carry on just 11 touches and scored 4 times in the 45-14 win. The limited touches in week one should benefit Lambert in week two in the biggest Class A Game of the Week against Doddridge County where he may need to carry a heavier load in a fight to determine the early season top dog in the class.

It’s always tough to evaluate small school players who may not always be facing the toughest competition each week, but 2025 Wahama running back Connor Lambert Connor Lambert 5'8" | 170 lbs | RB Wahama | 2025 State WV has been making a name for himself this off-season. He turned heads at one of the WVU prospect camps this summer after ripping off a blazing 4.3 40 and showing off the high-level speed we saw on his junior highlight tape. Lambert has been rewarded with offers from WV State and Rio Grande so far with more sure to come with what should be a monster senior year on the football field. Size may be the one aspect of his game that keeps bigger programs from pulling the trigger on an offer, but Lambert will be a steal at the D2 level if that’s where he eventually ends up. You can’t teach speed and quickness and Lambert has a plethora of both and plays at a different level than players around him at the Class A level.

Lambert is emerging from under the radar heading into his senior year and is another athlete who could increase his stock and ranking after a highly anticipated final year with the White Falcons.
