heads into his senior offseason at Wahama looking to rebound from a junior year that was slowed by injuries after showing his potential earlier in his career. The 2027 quarterback earned Honorable Mention All-State recognition as a sophomore in 2024 and has the kind of athletic profile that still gives him a chance to make a major impact if he can stay healthy. Simpkins is a true dual-threat who fits naturally in a run-oriented offense, using his quickness and burst to create problems for defenses in the open field. While he may be undersized for the position, his speed and competitiveness allow him to influence the game in multiple ways, including as a defensive back. If he returns at full strength and recaptures the form he showed earlier in his career, Simpkins can put together the type of senior season that moves him into First Team All-State conversations and earns college attention.

appears to be in line to be the White Falcons’ starting quarterback in 2024 with real potential as DB prospect too. For now, Simpkins will debut as an ATH in our 2027 rankings as a talented two-way player who should have a breakout sophomore season on the offensive side of the ball this year. He’s an athletic young player who didn’t play like a first-year DB last season with 81 tackles and 4 interceptions. Simpkins played the ball very well as a freshman corner/safety last season and didn’t shy away from contact or any hesitancy to attempt a PBU. He has very good pursuit speed and plays well in man coverage and in space for his age. Simpkins is also good in run support as a smaller DB which is evident by is total number of tackles.
If he can keep getting bigger, Simpkins can develop into a scholarship-level prospect by the time he’s a senior.

. Simpkins was highly productive for the White Falcons during his freshman season totaling 81 tackles and 4 interceptions along with 176 yards rushing on offense. He’s a smaller DB right now at 5’7 140 but flies around the field making plays and playing like he’s a bigger size. Simpkins is a very quick and speedy corner with fluidity in his movement to be able to make plays in coverage or on a tackle. He’s a sure tackler in the open field due to his early athleticism but showed great things as a natural cover corner too. Simpkins is an exciting little player to watch and a name to know at the small school level.
