The perfect RB recruit is going to have size, power to push the pile or break tackles, speed to beat angles and create the big play, offer a receiving threat out of the backfield, have excellent instincts with the ball in his hands, and have that innate ability to make the highlight reel play look easy. These are just a few of the traits we will be taking and pouring into our perfect RB recruit. So let's get back into the lab and build this playmaker!</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>SIZE AND FRAME</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">2027 Capital RB [player_tooltip player_id='1155316' first='David' last='Robinson Jr'] has the kind of frame college coaches are always looking for at the position. At 6'0 195, Robinson carries his weight well and already looks like a back built to handle volume, with room to keep adding strength. Robinson isn't reliant on flash, he wins with a sturdy build that helps him stay balanced through contact and finish runs the right way. You can see how that frame supports his consistency, and it's a big reason Robinson has been able to produce early and draw D1 attention. As Robinson continues to fill out, that body type is only going to make his game even more effective as a well-rounded athlete at the position. </p>     <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>VISION</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">2027 Hedgesville RB [player_tooltip player_id='1810530' first='Chris' last='Williams'] really came into his own when the offense needed him most in the second half of the season, and his vision was a big reason why. After his quarterback went down, Williams took on a larger role and gave the unit a spark, consistently finding ways to create yards. Williams does a nice job locating running lanes, staying patient just long enough before hitting them with burst. He sees space quickly, makes sharp cuts, and avoids traffic instead of running into it. That ability to find daylight and maximize each carry helped Williams carry the load down the stretch and show what he's capable of.</p>     <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>POWER</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">2027 Philip Barbour RB [player_tooltip player_id='2047488' first='Landyn' last='Carpenter'] made a statement right away, and his power is at the center of it. Carpenter runs with a physical edge at 6'0 200 and wastes little time getting downhill, showing a true one cut and go style. Carpenter hits the hole with intent and isn't easy to bring down, consistently running through contact and finishing plays falling forward. What stands out is how natural it all looks for someone still new to the position, and when Carpenter breaks through that first wave, he has enough speed to turn those tough runs into explosive gains.</p>     <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>SPEED</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">2027 Elkins RB [player_tooltip player_id='864596' first='Jaden' last='Hatfield'] brings real track speed to the backfield, and it shows up the moment he touches the ball. A sub-11 100 meter athlete, Hatfield gets up to top speed quickly and can outrun angles once he hits the edge. In Elkins' Wing-T offense, Hatfield was consistently asked to work outside the tackles, and he made defenses pay by turning the corner and getting vertical in a hurry. Hatfield's speed forces defenders to widen and hesitate, and once he's in space, he's tough to track down.</p>     <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>ELUSIVENESS</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">2027 Cameron RB [player_tooltip player_id='1154892' first='Marshall' last='Holland'] is as tough as they come to get a clean shot on, and his elusiveness is what makes him so dangerous. Holland has quick, controlled feet and a natural feel for making defenders miss in tight spaces, slipping tackles before they ever fully form. He doesn't dance, he stays efficient, but still finds ways to avoid contact or soften it. Holland pairs that with a hard running style, so even when defenders do get hands on him, he's breaking through and keeping plays alive. Dean hauled in 23 catches for over 400 yards last season, showing he's comfortable catching the ball and turning upfield without missing a beat. He tracks it well, adjusts to throws, and becomes a runner quickly once it's in his hands. With Hampshire needing to replace production through the air, Dean is in line for an even bigger role as a pass catcher, and his ability as a receiver gives the offense another way to get him involved and stress defenses.</p>     <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>BALANCE</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">2027 Mingo Central RB [player_tooltip player_id='908261' first='Jace' last='Coleman'] may not have the size or ranking yet, but his balance jumps off the film. Coleman is a quick, shifty runner who consistently stays on his feet through contact, bouncing off hits that should bring him down. He keeps his body under control, resets, and keeps moving forward without losing momentum. Coleman's ability to absorb contact and stay upright turns short gains into bigger ones, and when he finds a crease, that burst shows up right away. It's a trait that makes him tougher to deal with than you'd expect at first glance.</p>     <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>BURST</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">2027 Martinsburg RB [player_tooltip player_id='1155328' first='Kingston' last='McDonald-Gibson'] brings instant acceleration that shows up the moment he gets the ball. McDonald-Gibson fires out of the backfield and hits top speed in a hurry, putting his foot in the ground and getting north fast. He doesn't need much space to create a play, and once he sees daylight, he's gone. McDonald-Gibson emerged as the go-to option last season in the backfield, and that burst is a big reason why he was able to separate himself and turn small creases into big gains.</p>     <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>AGILITY</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">2027 Bluefield RB [player_tooltip player_id='1154894' first='Willis' last='Wilson'] is a tough cover in space because of how easily he changes direction. When healthy, Wilson shows loose hips and quick feet, able to plant and redirect without losing speed. He finds space naturally, slipping through the line and cutting off defenders before they can square him up. Wilson can make the first man miss right at the line, then burst into daylight and keep it going. Coming back from injury, Wilson's agility is the trait that makes him dangerous and gives him a chance to bounce back in a big way as a senior. </p>     <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>PATIENCE</strong></h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">2027 Elkins RB [player_tooltip player_id='1155298' first='Seth' last='Robinson'] shows a mature running style built on patience, which is critical in their Wing-T offense. Robinson does a good job letting plays develop, especially when working behind pullers, allowing blocks to set before committing. He doesn't rush into traffic, instead trusting the design and waiting for the right crease to open. Once it does, Robinson hits it with speed and decisiveness, turning well-blocked plays into chunk gains. That controlled approach helps him stay efficient and consistently move the chains.</p>
