The underclassman passer who has led Bonner to an undefeated record through five games. PRZ is late to sing [player_tooltip player_id='953528' first='Noel' last='Campbell']'s praises, as Campbell split time with [player_tooltip player_id='953527' first='Kenjai' last='Gatling'] as a freshman last Fall. It's Campbell's time now, the young man has come through in more ways than one. Campbell has thrown for 200+ yards on four out of five occasions. Campbell has eclipsed the century mark early on, a testament to his accuracy, knowledge of the playbook, and willingness to get the ball out on time and in rhythm. 10 scores, 1,000 yards, all while completing better than 65% of his passes.

Bonner has always predicated their success based on how well they can move the ball on the ground, this year is no different. Yet the Bonner coaching staff have a wrinkle to deploy now that they have a passer they can trust. I was present for the game against the Haverford School, Campbell was poised and under control, saw the field well, was protected in the pocket. All of this amounted to 12 completions, five of which went to West Virginia commit [player_tooltip player_id='464619' first='Jalil' last='Hall']. A variation of passes completed as well. Hitches, curls, nine routes, fades, slants. Campbell is comfortable running the passing attack. A Bonner team seemingly more balanced than previous years, there is no team in the state I'd be surprised to see them beat, large in part due to Campbell's development and progression as a passer. A big boost in rank is coming as well, he's earned that.

This past weekend's match-up against Father Judge marks the fourth straight game Mick Johnson has eclipsed the 100-yard mark on the ground. We've been in on all things [player_tooltip player_id='1091185' first='Mikhail' last='Johnson'] since the off-season, rumblings were picked up that this kid has all the makings to be named PCL MVP, he might be on that path after six weeks into the 2024 season.

Johnson was close to leading the 2023 team in rushing, lagging behind Avery Hankey by a few hundred yards. 2024 has come with a significant lean on his talents on the ground. Just six attempts for Johnson against Father Judge, he was able to rip those six for 120+ yards and four scores. Johnson would rack up four scores on the ground against Roman Catholic as well, he's been in the end zone over 15 times through five games. A mixture of goal-line carries and long break-away runs, Johnson isn't a one-trick pony.

Talking Johnson's recruiting situation, it's worth mentioning that Johnson burst onto the scene relatively later than expected. Johnson proved to be a prospect worthy of looks last Fall, especially when you factor into consideration his play as a DB/LB. This is a kid worthy of FCS attention today. Thing is, we know that the majority of FCS programs have moved on from the class of 2025. This not to say the Division One window has closed, I think there's a serious chance he still gets scholarship consideration in the coming weeks, especially if he continues to tear through great defenses the way he has.

Comfortable runner in 10 personnel sets, reads his gaps inside out, doesn't bounce unless necessary. Has breakaway speed, has a different gear once he sees green turf ahead of him. Tough runner, a bruiser but not because of his build per se. Cut-up muscular build that has him looking like a DB more than anything. Capable of catching the football but not asked too, not shown on tape either. Toughness and willingness to take on the brunt of a defense shown in goal-line carries. A nasty lateral cutter, elusiveness isn't his game though. Johnson can cut in or out to juke a kid out of his shoes, but he'd much rather run through you than around you. Has a great blend of patience and burst. Some reps the kid sees the hole and is shot out of a cannon for big gains. Others rep, Johnson displays a stutter to let gaps naturally appear. A phenomenal feel for the game when aligned at OLB/S/SCB. His Division One grade is certified in my eyes because of his prowess on defense. So much to like, hopefully programs begin to provide opportunities sooner rather than later.

[player_tooltip player_id='1352770' first='Saalem' last='Frink'] has just two scores on the ground this year but don't get it twisted. Frink has proven to be a valuable second option for Bonner to deploy on the ground. You can argue that Johnson has been able to stay fresh a bit because of the alleviation of carries Frink provides. Johnson might lead the way in terms of scores and highlight runs, yet Frink has bore the brunt of the dirty work in a way. Back-to-back hundred-yard performances, this coming against Roman Catholic and Father Judge.

Frink doesn't have a mid-season tape out yet, and he was bottled up against Haverford, the game I attended in person. I decided to take a look at his tape against Roman to learn more about how he's performing this Fall. I spoke about Johnson providing a DB-like build. Frink provides your standard, thicker build at the position. Frink broke through the Roman defense after breaking two tackles at the second-level, likely a touchdown run had Frink not cramped up. Frink also scored on an outside zone pitch set that had him barrel through DB inside of ten yards. Comfortable reading his key block, comfortable running in a spread look. I feel good about Frink's potential as the future lead back at Bonner. His play is going to prove pivotal if Bonner wants to continue on the current tear they are on.

I spoke on [player_tooltip player_id='599031' first='Jeremiah' last='Coleman']'s first-three about two weeks ago. Checking back in, it's great to see the young man continue to lead his team in terms of receiving. The best receiving performance put forth by any Friar this season came through [player_tooltip player_id='599031' first='Jeremiah' last='Coleman'], racking up 140 yard on three catches against Archbishop Wood. Counterpart [player_tooltip player_id='464619' first='Jalil' last='Hall'] picked up some slack in the following two weeks, yet Coleman is coming off a 120-yard performance against Father Judge. Said performance has put Coleman back in the lead as the leading yard-getter at Bonner. 18 catches, 400 yards, three scores on the year.

The Division One recruiting window may have closed on Coleman, this doesn't mean he won't carve out a substantial presence among the Division Two scene. I think programs are a bit late in identifying Coleman as a legitimate X at the next level. Coleman, who has a history playing defensive back, should be a lock to see legitimate PSAC love in the coming weeks. His play on the field has earned that much.

Robert Ford had a big Week One against Ryan. Ford also contributed to the win against Haverford. Ford is the third option in an offense that likes to run the football with two backs, so offensive production will be tough to come by, especially with Campbell throwing the ball on average about 16-20 times a game.

Considering what Ford has done with limited opportunities, I hope local D3s give him some sort of love. Ford flashes size, he can provide two-way reps, he can work after the catch. Ford is capable of a 150-yard performance in this offense, yet we have to understand that Hall and Coleman see the bulk of the targets, with Frink and Johnson toting the rock anywhere between 25-40 times a game. Excited to get him on our ranks and spread his name a bit.

Bonner will go into each game with a potential game-wrecker deployed outside. Yes, Coleman leads the team in yards. Yes, Bonner is going to live and die by the run game, as they should. Having [player_tooltip player_id='464619' first='Jalil' last='Hall'] deployed outside means a couple of things. Opposing defenses have no choice but to game plan for him in some fashion. Safety help, double-team or bracket coverage, At the very least, a team's best DB is going to have to work to match up with this kid.

It's obvious that Coleman and Ford see targets because of programs doing all they can to take Hall away. I was at the Haverford game, a game in which Hall torched a young and promising secondary for two scores and a ton of yardage. The West Virginia commit still leads the team in total receptions, he also has to be accounted for off the edge. Yet understand this, Hall and Campbell can link up for three-score performances with ease if they choose to. Do not let the top-ranked wideout prospect break out against you or the game will be out of reach before halftime.

5.09 GPA. Jones ranks as a wideout, however. Taking a look at his mid-season tape, you'll immediately be met with what he's capable of if given opportunities in space. Jones carries a back/DB build, you can see his skillset flourish in the open field. A great compliment to Ford/Hall/Coleman, all three of which stand above 6'0. A bit of burst and excitement to his game, Jones provides route variation too. Can score via swings in the backfield, can score outside the numbers, either stationed there pre-snap or coming from bunch formations inside. A great accelerator on wheel routes, good ball tracker downfield too. A contributor the Bonner staff can count on in special teams, as well as in the run game like I mentioned above. Safe to say he's the most underrated offensive weapon at Bonner's disposal. His play could sway the outcome of football games.

Checking in on Daniels' mid-season tape, I feel as though we have yet to see the best version of the junior pass rusher. Can rush as an OLB in a 2-4-5 front with his hand off the dirt, can rush in a traditional EDGE alignment in a three-point stance. I can see Daniels attempt hand-fighting/countering moves. I can see Daniels getting home in the form of pressures. I can see Daniels crash down the line in an attempt to bring ball carriers down behind the LOS. His tape is a good start, I just want to see more production moving forward. I want to raise his rank and am ready to do so.

[player_tooltip player_id='1091239' first='CJ' last='Amobi'] is putting together a promising junior campaign. 6'3, 225. An edge rusher that can dabble with the TE position. 4.22 GPA, currently unoffered.

I speak about Amobi being unoffered as a junior because I think there's a strong chance he gets FCS consideration sooner rather than later. After what I've seen out of Amobi, I'm ready to raise his stock through the roof in terms of rank. Can align from anywhere between shading outside shoulders of guards to tackles. Boasts a fantastic rip move. Can be involved in stunts and games, often the outside man being kicked inside. A ton of TFLs registered, is a disciplined defender when unblocked off the edge. I think there is still pass-rush tech to be unlocked in Amobi, I hope the young man understands his potential at Bonner.

Fantastic hips, this young man can turn and run while staying balanced, keeping his pad level low. Sports a backpedal, something I don't see out of HS DBs enough. This is a seasoned and well-sought-after DB holding offers from the likes of West Virginia and Kent State. Adams ended up recording a pick-six in the game I attended, this worth mentioning.
[player_tooltip player_id='819724' first='Dylan' last='Spriddle'] is going to fly up our ranks after this coming update. 6'1, 175 pounds. 4.13 GPA. Had a great showing against Haverford. Read a play in the flat, screamed down from his safety position and laid a brutal hit on a Haverford defender. Can man up well with TEs, is big in his own right. Looks better than he ever has, looks more confident than years past. Recorded an interception against Wood.

Spriddle's mid-season tape is an easy sell to PSACs in need of a DB who can double as a corner or safety. Can rotate and provide blanket help over top. Comfortable in two-high sets. Returned a kickoff for a score this year, proving he's an athlete in the secondary. Has extensive reps covering inside slot defenders. Has more reps than you'd think at the LOS, considering he's a legitimate safety prospect. Physical within the first 3 yards of the LOS. Doesn't let you pass his face without some kind of limb or obstruction being made.
