Indiana Week 7: Defensive Top Performers

<a href="https://prepredzone.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=post"></a>   We're heading to the defensive side of the ball to highlight some defensive performances that helped slow down offenses this past Friday.    Russ is one of the more impressive DBs in the Indy region and he just had another stellar performance on Friday. He was all over the field, flying around, batting balls down, making big tackles, and even had a pick. His total line for the night was 8 tackles, 2 PBUs, and 1 interception on the night while matched up against [player_tooltip player_id='553018' first='Eugene' last='Hilton'].     This is the first I've come across Lunsord and I like what I saw. He's a confident linebacker who isn't afraid of contact or being the one to initiate it. He's a downhill football player who likes to be around the line of scrimmage. On Friday night he had a handful of tackles and a PBU, but nothing more important than when he stripped the ball and took it 94 yards for the touchdown.     The development for Reyna week in and week out is fairly clear. Not only is he gaining confidence week after week but he's eliminating mistakes and becoming more productive. With multiple weeks over double-digit solo tackles, Reyna is getting a good feel for the defense and what he's asked to do. He's asked to play quite a bit of downhill ball and push the line. With 15 tackles on the night, it was his most complete game to date.     Tolliver is in his breakout season and proving to be a fairly valuable defensive asset. While he primarily had an offensive background, they threw him on the field defensively and it was a good decision. He sees the field well and doesn't get baited on double moves. Friday night they had him roaming the 2nd and 3rd levels. With his speed that was a great idea because he finished the night with 7 tackles and an interception. While they fell short, Tolliver is developing with the live bullets flying.     Oladipupo is more than having a breakout season but this is a season where he may very well put himself near the top of many boards. He's impressive and this is just the beginning. He's a high-motor player who sniffs out the ball as well as anyone you'll come across. Friday night alone he had 20 tackles. On the year this gives him 58 tackles and a forced fumble. I don't anticipate him slowing down and only getting better as the reps and experience come.     Walters is an impressive-looking young linebacker who is well-built and highly productive. He's able to play in the box and help enforce the run as well as drop back and help cover tight ends and the middle of the field. He's got a good sense of timing on the field and can fight through blocks to get to the ball. Walters has 50 tackles, 4 hurries, 1 sack, and a forced fumble on his breakout season as of now but those numbers will continue to climb.
