This is the first I’ve come across Lunsord and I like what I saw. He’s a confident linebacker who isn’t afraid of contact or being the one to initiate it. He’s a downhill football player who likes to be around the line of scrimmage. On Friday night he had a handful of tackles and a PBU, but nothing more important than when he stripped the ball and took it 94 yards for the touchdown.

Flying all over the second level of the defense Friday night was Lunsford. He was covering the entire width of the field and had the speed to run down just about any ball carrier. To put up 14 tackles, a few TFLs, deflect a pass, and force a fumble all in week 1, you have to come into the season prepared and focused. Lunsford was ready for the moment and helped shut down Central’s offense. A very impressive showing to start the season by Lunsford and I’m curious to see how he builds upon it.
