VILLA PARK VS. YORBA LINDA

This was a one-point game last season and there is a chance the winner of this game is in the driver's seat for a potential Bravo League championship. Villa Park quarterback Nate Lewis threw for 221 yards with two touchdowns last season against Yorba Linda and Dominic Ancich had a touchdown run. Yorba Linda ran the ball for 361 yards with four touchdowns last season against Villa Park so Cole Nerio may be in for a big game. [player_tooltip player_id='1158506' first='Holden' last='Nagin'] only threw for 84 yards in this game last season but the Mustangs ran the ball so much that he wasn't asked to do much.

SAN PEDRO VS. CARSON

San Pedro has won five consecutive games and outscored its opponents 242-38 in that span. Marcus Alexander Jeronymo has been solid at quarterback averaging 148 yards per game with 9 touchdowns and one interception. Darren Riingen leads San Pedro in rushing and Raymond Chavez leads the defense. Carson runs the ball well with Kameryn Hurst and quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='569767' first='Chris' last='Fields III']. Carson won this game 48-7 last season but lost the previous four games against San Pedro.

MISSION HILLS VS. CARLSBAD

Carlsbad is on a four-game winning streak and beat Ramona 41-0 last week. [player_tooltip player_id='401244' first='Eli' last='Macneal'] has been one of the better quarterbacks in San Diego County this season and completed 10 for 11 passes for 215 yards with three touchdowns last week. Mission Hills is coming off a bye after an excellent win over a good San Marcos team. [player_tooltip player_id='401299' first='Troy' last='Huhn'] leads the way for Mission Hills in this Avocado League opener. Carlsbad has won this matchup in recent years.

INGLEWOOD VS. LEUZINGER

Both these schools are 5-0 and have quality wins. Leuzinger had a marquee win over Santa Margarita two weeks ago and has another good win over Loyola. [player_tooltip player_id='1598387' first='Journee' last='Tonga'] already has 980 yards rushing and 17 touchdowns through five games for Leuzinger and [player_tooltip player_id='432272' first='Russell' last='Sekona'] is one of the better freshman quarterback in the area. [player_tooltip player_id='401293' first='Samu' last='Moala'] leads Leuzinger's defense and is one of the best class of 2026 players in the region. Inglewood has [player_tooltip player_id='406730' first='Kingston' last='Tisdell'] back at quarterback and [player_tooltip player_id='283693' first='Victor' last='Santino'] can be very good at running back along with Austyn Tillman. Inglewood will need [player_tooltip player_id='282773' first='Venilaite' last='Wolfgramm'] III to contain Tonga in order to win.

SERVITE VS. JSERRA

These two Trinity League teams are undefeated and this is the deepest the league has been in awhile. Servite wants to run the ball with [player_tooltip player_id='723744' first='Quaid' last='Carr'] and quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='406664' first='Leo' last='Hannan'] is questionable. If Hannan doesn't play, JSerra can make the Friars one-dimensional. [player_tooltip player_id='1182920' first='Simote' last='Katoanga'] is the best defensive lineman Servite's young offensive line will have faced so far this season and [player_tooltip player_id='282705' first='Madden' last='Faraimo'] should rack up tackles in this game. [player_tooltip player_id='1284693' first='Ryan' last='Hopkins'] has been very good at quarterback for JSerra and he's behind an excellent offensive line.

The pick: JSerra

LONG BEACH POLY VS. MISSION VIEJO

This game will be played at SoFi Stadium. Long Beach Poly has beaten Mission Viejo the last two season and both games required a touchdown in the final minute for Poly to win. [player_tooltip player_id='1655382' first='Deuce' last='Jefferson'] was good at quarterback last week for Poly and it is unclear if UCLA commit [player_tooltip player_id='282717' first='Madden' last='Iamaleava'] will be eligible or not. [player_tooltip player_id='1000890' first='Luke' last='Fahey'] and [player_tooltip player_id='406731' first='Draiden' last='Trudeau'] do a great job leading Mission Viejo's offense and [player_tooltip player_id='283692' first='Vance' last='Spafford'] is the best junior receiver in the state. Mission Viejo's secondary featuring [player_tooltip player_id='723683' first='Dijon' last='Lee'] and [player_tooltip player_id='283628' first='Jeron' last='Jones'] will make it tough for Poly's receivers to get open.

ORANGE LUTHERAN VS. ST. JOHN BOSCO

If anyone can knock off St. John Bosco or Mater Dei in the Trinity League, this will be the year. Orange Lutheran has its most talented team since coach Rod Sherman arrived. [player_tooltip player_id='282728' first='TJ' last='Lateef'] can make big plays at quarterback and Tyler Hennessey seems to convert every third down for the Lancers. [player_tooltip player_id='401284' first='Matai' last='Fuiava'] suffered a separated shoulder in Bosco's win over Pittsburg two weeks ago but had two touchdown passes. He won't play this week so freshman [player_tooltip player_id='959174' first='Koa' last='Malau'ulu'] will get his chance. [player_tooltip player_id='1396184' first='Maliq' last='Allen'] has emerged as a big play running back for Bosco and the receiving corps of [player_tooltip player_id='401226' first='Carson' last='Clark'], [player_tooltip player_id='283605' first='Daniel' last='Odom'] and [player_tooltip player_id='209113' first='Madden' last='Williams'] is elite. Both teams are very good in the trenches and if anyone can slow down [player_tooltip player_id='723690' first='Epi' last='Sitanilei'] and [player_tooltip player_id='401241' first='Dutch' last='Horisk'], it's Orange Lutheran's offensive line.
