Brophy Prep wasted no time getting the party started with QB [player_tooltip player_id='401151' first='Case' last='Vanden Bosch'] connecting on a deep ball to WR [player_tooltip player_id='401155' first='Daylen' last='Sharper'] for the early TD to make it 7-0. Perry responded with two field goals by K James Dean (one from 33 and another from 49 yards) while QB [player_tooltip player_id='883279' first='Kael' last='Snyder'] would score a rushing TD from 12 yards out in between those two field goals, taking a 13-7 lead. Brophy next drive would be aided from two critical penalties but would stale as they settled for a FG from K Ryder Hampton to make 10-13. Brophy would missed a chance to tie on a missed FG before halftime. Heading into the second half after a few defensive stops, Brophy's RB [player_tooltip player_id='835498' first='Harrison' last='Chambers'] would score to regain the lead 17-13. Perry would maintain much of the time of possession in the 3rd quarter before RB [player_tooltip player_id='1645584' first='Nate' last='Wheeler'] would break a 45 yard rushing TD run to put them back ahead once again making it 17-20. The Brophy offense would strike back in the 4th quarter from a 12 yard QB [player_tooltip player_id='401151' first='Case' last='Vanden Bosch'] run, overtaking Perry once again 24-20. Perry had two chances to score late, however the Brophy defense stood tall on the final two drives of the 4th quarter with a forced fumble/recovery and a INT in the final minute of regulation to allow Brophy to walk away with the win. Final Score: Brophy Prep 24 - Perry 20

This game was like a heavy-weight boxing match with both high powered teams trading jabs at each other until the very last minute of the game. Both teams played incredibly well and fought to the very end, but Brophy's defense was the difference maker in this game. We will now share some of the stand-out performances from Friday's game.

2027 Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='883279' first='Kael' last='Snyder'] played like a senior veteran out on the field for his offense. He had incredible poise downfield even when he was facing pressure, showing great elusiveness and agility in his scramble to buy more time for his receivers downfield or even take off and run for a TD like in the clip below. He threaded the needle on some throws that were jaw-dropping at times, especially over the middle into the heart of the defense. Aside from the interception at the end, he had a brilliant performance against a tough Brophy defense. His skill set that he possesses while only being a sophomore shows that he is going to be a fantastic player as he continues to develop over his high school career.

2026 Running Back [player_tooltip player_id='835498' first='Harrison' last='Chambers'] led the charge for this Brophy offense, especially on the ground. With the offensive line being able to clear some holes for Chambers, he was able to pop a few 10-plus-yard run plays to keep the chains moving for his offense. He was also effective through the air, snagging a few catches, specifically on screenplays to get big gains. In space, he was quick and shifty moving around Perry's defenders, hitting paydirt on a rushing TD in the red zone to give Brophy the lead early in the second half. Chambers was impressive and will look to continue his momentum as the go-to guy for his team in the running attack.

2026 Wide Receiver [player_tooltip player_id='401155' first='Daylen' last='Sharper'] did not disappoint, as he was Brophy's most explosive weapon downfield. His best catch came early in the first quarter when he was able to reel in a beautiful deep ball from about 30 yards out to give Brophy the first score. He racked in multiple catches throughout the game, constantly picking apart the Perry defense with his methodical route running to give this offense quick-strike ability. It was hard for anyone to cover Sharper last night, and he will look to continue this to show that he is one of the best receivers in the state. He most recently received an offer from Kansas.

2027 Running Back [player_tooltip player_id='884422' first='Talen' last='Frazier'] is beginning to become more of a predominant weapon among this young Perry offense. He had multiple catches out of the backfield to ensure the offense continued to gain positive yardage last night while also getting a good bulk of carries to keep the Brophy defense on its toes. He had a monster truck against two Brophy defenders in the 4th quarter, putting an extra emphasis on one of his big runs. But that's not all Frazier did, as he played all three phases of the game with a few tackles at the linebacker position and had a 45 yard kick return to help set his offense up nicely close to mid field. A clear cut physical athlete who is aiding his team in multiple ways, but look out for Frazer to continue to be a receiving back for this Perry team out of the backfield.

2025 Linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='954366' first='Maddox' last='Ford'] was everywhere on the field for this Perry defense. Racking around double-digit tackles and slowing down the Brophy offense with a few TFLs made Ford look unstoppable out of the field. Showing sideline to sideline speed with remarkable agility to always be around the play and in position to make an impact. He can shoot through gaps and play in the opponent's backfield, getting pressures, pass deflections, and even fumbles. His team is going to continue to need him going forward, as they will continue to see more high-powered offenses as the season progresses.

2025 Linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='522674' first='Dominic' last='Mitchell'] was able to show off his versatility as a defender in last night's game. The Brophy defense utilized him as one of their two high safeties instead of playing him more in the box in order to prevent Perry from getting big chuck plays downfield. He was able to have multiple passes defensed while drawing no penalties on the field with sound technique and excellent range to cover so much ground on the field. It was a marvelous defensive performance, proving that he is one of the most elite defenders in the state.

2025 Defensive Lineman Matthew Hernandez was quite the disruptor on the interior for the Broncos. He was able to disengage off double teams and prevent the running game from getting going with some key tackles and a TFL in the contest. Additionally he provided some pressure on Perry in the passing game, forcing the quarterback out of the pocket to make throws on the run. He is a player who looks like he is making a name for himself in an already incredibly talented Brophy defense.

2026 Defensive Lineman Ricky Stewart showed up as a sparkplug several times on the Perry defensive line. Going up against a very talented and big Brophy offensive line, Stewart was able to utilize his quick get off and astonishing speed to leverage the ball carrier back to his teammates in the offensive backfield. He also displayed great football intelligence and hand timing, being able to bat the football down at the line of scrimmage on a critical down in the game. Stewart could be a big piece for the Perry defense, making crucial plays on the defensive line for the rest of their season.

Other Notable Players

Devin Sapry CB Perry - A tough ask going up against an array of skilled wide receivers on Brophy, but Sarpy did not shy away from the challenge. He had an unbelievable interception in the 3rd quarter that initially looked like an incompletion, but he somehow came away with it. He was speedy, quicky and used his good ball skills to be able to defend against sevreal passes in his direction.

[player_tooltip player_id='401157' first='Devin' last='Fitzgerald'] WR Brophy - Son of Arizona Cardinals Football Legend Larry Fitzgerald, Devin definitely showed that the wide receiver skillset runs in the family. He had multiple catches in this game and showed good football intelligence along with shiftiness in the open field to create some big-time yards after catch for his offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='739457' first='James' last='Pike'] S Brophy - When it mattered most, Pike was able to make a massive play for his team to come away with the win. Playing in the slot on passing downs, he was able to read the quarterback's eyes effectively while dropping back into his zone. He then utilized good ball tracking and hands to snag the ball out of the air for the game winning INT in the 4th.
