Offseason Rankings/Grades Hits and Misses, PA Recruiting Update

<p class="text-gray-700">Much has been made about the re-surfacing of [player_tooltip player_id='598629' first='Bradley' last='Gompers']. A Duke commit, a prospect who has never been ranked outside the Top 20 on our rankings. It's tough to act surprised by Gomper's explosion back into the recruiting scene, I was of the notion that the sky truly is the limit for the young man. Gompers started off his senior year red hot, hotter than usual, ultimately leading to programs like Vanderbilt and Penn State to offer the already committed LB/ATH. Ole Miss and NC State also felt inclined to put their names back into the Gompers hat. </p>   <p>I won't pretend to know the ins and outs of this situation, yet the up trend is still worth noting. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/GompersBradley/status/1836807485929439647 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Stop me if you've heard this one, Larry Moon continues to add to the lengthy list of offers under his belt. It's hardly news nowadays, I fully expect Moon III to gather as many next-level offers as more and more teams come through Aliquippa to evaluate talent. </p>   <p>So far, as the 2024 Fall season continues to progress at lightning speed, Moon has received offers out of UCLA and Virginia Tech. Temple, Bowling Green, and West Virginia have all seen enough to call the freshman's number to provide scholarship opportunities. Expect Black to be an easy-offer candidate, a no-brainer type prospect for FBS programs recruiting PA. Akron and Syracuse offered Black before the 2024 Fall season began. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/ChrysBlackjr1/status/1837583843454603310 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Lampeter-Strasburg's [player_tooltip player_id='1165818' first='Caileb' last='Howse'], a low-ranked prospect, announced just yesterday that Grove City College extended him a roster spot offer. Howse now has his shot to play ball at the next level, something always worth celebrating. The LS QB/ATH will likely see a few more D3 schools leave spots open for him, especially if LS keeps winning. </p>   <p>This is Howse's first college opportunity. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/CailebHowse13/status/1838038806248751518 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Coatesville's [player_tooltip player_id='816286' first='Maxwell' last='Hiller'] bursted onto the national scene this off-season, his tape and full-body of work warranting all the attention. What cements this even further are scholarship offers from arguably the two most prestigious schools in the nation. The Ohio State University offered Hiller on September 11th. The reigning national champions offered [player_tooltip player_id='816286' first='Maxwell' last='Hiller'] on September 15th as well, that being the Michigan Wolverines, never to be out-done by their rival Buckeyes. </p>   <p>The sky is truly the limit for Hiller in terms of recruitment. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/HillerMaxwell/status/1835471996110426118 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">A bit embarrassed to admit that I didn't know [player_tooltip player_id='648153' first='Jackson' last='Melconian'] was such a stud on the mound. Two days ago, Malvern Prep's QB1 announced his decision to pitch at Vanderbilt, the junior finding his collegiate home a bit earlier than I would have expected. </p>   <p>Don't be fooled by his football ranking, the young man is due to climb our ranks thanks to the special year he's having behind center. McDowell's [player_tooltip player_id='598937' first='Blayze' last='Myers'] recently announced his earning of a scholarship offer out of Lincoln University. </p>   <p>Recruiting quarterbacks come with a different set of rules, it's unfair and cut-throat. Any opportunity provided to a senior signal caller should be met with elevated praise, as there aren't enough collegiate opportunities presenting themselves to HS QBs, thanks to many factors out of the prospects control. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/BlayzeMyers/status/1836779421396505005 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1019861' first='Jasper' last='Shepps'] picked up his first scholarship offer, this coming out of Mansfield University. I applaud the Mounties for scouting, identifying, and pulling the trigger on an offerless junior who is projected to outpace the D3 scene. Good on the program for attempting to build a relationship with a prospect who would serve as a potential crown jewel of a recruiting class. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/jaspershepps/status/1836913948433543488 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Julian Fuentes-Bream, ranked as the second-best defensive back among 2027 classmates, has had an eventful September on and off the field. Bream adds to his growing offer list, adding Liberty and Pitt, the Pitt offer coming after the Bishop McDevitt underclassmen visited this past weekend. </p>   <p>The likes of Boston College, Duke, and Syracuse are likely to follow suit. ACC programs are likely to copy-cat, especially programs recruiting outside of their own state. Duell is hitting his third recruiting stride, his first being his FBS stamp via Central Michigan, his second being a flurry of offers led by ACC's Duke being in the mix. Now, with Virginia Tech offering the West Chester East product. Like many listed above, the ACC is fully in on Duell, with more programs likely reaching out. Can he hit BIG10 status before his senior year begins next Fall? Wiggins picked up his first Power Four offer out of Syracuse on August 20th, then his first BIG10 offer out of the University of Maryland just 2 days ago. </p>   <p>The floodgates have finally opened, the [player_tooltip player_id='939623' first='Terry' last='Wiggins'] evaluation being one of my better hits. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Terry_Wiggins10/status/1837517908701823100 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">We ranked [player_tooltip player_id='671915' first='Arnold' last='Mugerwa'] as one of the best wideouts among 2027 prospects in Pennsylvania. I'll admit, I didn't think Mugerwa was ACC ready after watching his freshman tape. I haven't watched what Mugerwa has put on Hudl this year, yet I imagine he's killing it on the turf if Virginia Tech feels comfortable offering. Expect his overall ranking to take a big jump because of the stamp of approval. No matter how quiet things are for Brooks, we all are aware of how special a football player he is. Brooks, who boasts a 4.2 GPA, is starting to see more teams feel comfortable as he finally puts substantial tape on Hudl for suitors to see and dissect. </p>   <p>Brooks is a BIG10-worthy prospect, expect that domino to fall in time. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/BrooksNir/status/1837626547563270432 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Happy to see [player_tooltip player_id='306928' first='Reston' last='Lehman'] get back in the news. Lehman's offer sheet is going to force my hand in terms of elevating his rank. Lehman broke through a ceiling set by us, something we love to see. Lehman held offers out of Eastern and Central Michigan, Akron, Miami of Ohio, and Buffalo. </p>   <p>ACC's Boston College has seen enough to elevate his ceiling into the Power Four ranks. Miami of Ohio extended an offer to the all-around athlete, yet I will admit I'm a bit unfamilair with his game at this point.
