New Jersey 8th Grade (2028) All-Star Preview – GA League

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The first <strong>New York</strong> (Move The Chains Academy) vs. <strong>New Jersey</strong> (GA League) 8th Grade All-Star Game takes place this weekend. Most of these players will be off to high school in the fall and a handful have made the choice to reclassify to become class of 2029 prospects. Below is what the roster is looking like, for New Jersey. The information below was mined by my own evaluating and research. Thick enough to carry between the tackles, but his bread is buttered when he runs to the outside or gets lose in space. An absolutely amazing frame for an O-Linemen just getting ready to enter high school this upcoming fall. Nobody personifies that more than the Philly-bound future St. Joe's Prep athlete, [player_tooltip player_id='1095979' first='Chase' last='Winterborne']. He can literally play any skill position on the field. Having seen him at two PRZ Next camps and a few All-Star events, I'm starting to see his ability on the defensive side of the ball shine through. Depending on how he fills out, I could see him as a Strong Safety or Outside Linebacker. With that said, he also has the ball skills, speed and mean streak to play Wide Receiver or Tight End. Brings Running Back/Wide Receiver speed to the OLB position and arrives with bad intentions every. single. time. Future St. Augustine Prep Hermit [player_tooltip player_id='963511' first='Johnny' last='Chirico'] fits that bill as a Linebacker, that could also get some touches on the offensive side of the ball as a Running Back too. He's a well-built, tough kid that understands leverage. Understands how to use his stature to his advantage by keeping the power low to the ground and exploding through contact--on both sides of the ball. My gut tells me he's going to end up as a Linebacker as he moves onto Ocean City High School in the fall, but he did a bit of everything this year. Looking around the state, Shields is a Top-20 prospect on both the Offensive and Defensive Line at this point--with a slight lean towards the DL. He already has that natural mean streak that all good Linemen have, and he isn't afraid to play to-and-through the whistle. Having watched him Easter weekend at the SportzFarm All-Star tournament he looked really impressive as a Running Back to me. He looked trimmed down from what I saw during the regular season, along with a powerful lower half and well-distributed weight from head to toe. In addition to [player_tooltip player_id='1140612' first='Gabe' last='Marshall'], Hall will be the power back in New Jersey RB stable against New York.
