We spotlight several noteworthy performers who stood out at the Select 50 Showcase.
Spencer-Hood is a sticky defender, who plays with controlled aggression and excellent technique. He get hands on receivers in press coverage to alter their routes, his ability to quickly change directions allows him to mirror receivers well in coverage and he plays the passing lanes well shutting down throwing windows. Amarion won MVP honors at the 2023 showcase and he has continued to add tools to his game. After seeing clips from his spring tape, he brings that same swagger in pads, he is a sure tackler, who can cover and bring the wood. He has offers from Southeastern Oklahoma State, Webber International University and a host of camp invites from colleges.
Highlights
Mitchell has an explosive first step, he bends well to get past blockers and he closes with good speed. He has a stiff punch, he uses his hands well at engagement and he was able to win multiple reps during the 1v1s vs some stiff competition in the trenches. Mitchell has a stout build with good arm length that he uses well in close quarters to keep blockers from getting into his chest. Adrian plays with excellent leverage, staying low and not giving his opponent a target to punch. After watching his fall tape, he flashed a stout run defender who has a high motor and he flows to the ball with good speed. Mitchell returns for his senior season at Ellison to be an anchor in the trenches.

Miles II is a big body target, who is explosive off the ball, he runs crisp routes and his quickness in space enabled him to win multiple reps against some stiff competition at the Select 50 Showcase. Aljour has strong, reliable hands, he attacks the football in flight aggressively and his ability to win on contested catches in tight coverage allowed him to make multiple grabs, coming away with scores during the red zone competition. Miles II has the speed to stretch the field for the big play, showing the ability to create separation and his ability to get in and out of his breaks quickly enables him to get open often. Heading into his junior season, his big play ability has caught the attention of college programs. Offers from Tulsa, Oklahoma, UTSA and North Texas, show that his profile on the recruiting trail is rising. He is a baller to keep an eye on this fall.

Sewell is a handful in the trenches, he has an explosive get off at the snap, he uses his extended reach to deliver a stiff blow at engagement and he has the speed to blow by blockers when he rushes the passer. He has a high motor and plays with relentless effort and this allowed him to win reps in the 1v1 against some stiff competition in the trenches. In 2023, Sewell was a First Team All-District performer for Lewisville, showing his versatility as a hybrid defender who can rush off the edge, be stout against the run and drop in coverage when he lines up at linebacker and still be a disruptive force. Sewell has offers from Southeastern Oklahoma State and Houston Christian University. With camp invites in his bag, he will have the opportunity to get eyes on him and he should see his offer sheet began increase heading into his senior season.

Glasco is shifty in space, he runs sharp routes with the ability to get in and out of his breaks quickly and he has reliable hands that attack the football in flight. He has a stout build with a powerful lower half and he has an explosive get off that enables him to put pressure on defenders at the snap. Glasco understands how to get open, he uses his power to out muscle defenders at the point of attack and this allowed to make several big grabs in the 1v1s at the Select 50 Showcase. Corbin had a productive sophomore season (926 all-purpose yards, 7 touchdowns), he was a featured weapon offensively, he has the elite speed that allows him to stretch the field and he has the skill set to turn a slant into a house call for six. Look for him to be a dynamic force for the Wildcats in 2024. Glasco has an offer from UTSA, but should see that number increase in 2024.

Reese has electric speed, he is phonebooth quick with the ability to shift gears quickly and his crisp route running enables him to win early putting pressure on defenders at the snap. Get the ball in his hands and let him work. He is shifty in space, he has a burst to create separation and his ability to make defenders miss in the open field makes him a weapon offensively. He won reps at the Select 50 Showcase, showing his agility and twitchyness in space to beat defenders off the ball. Reese is a big play threat who can turn a short pass into a big play in a heartbeat. Look for Reese to get plenty of touches for Guyer in 2024 and early offers from UNLV, as well as North Texas, show that college coaches have seen his big play potential.

Garcia has excellent short quickness, he moves well in space, he had clean footwork in the drills portion for his position, showing excellent high knee action and the ability to plant, cut and turn, not missing a step. At 6’3 225 pounds, he has a stout frame with broad shoulders and he has an extended reach that he uses well in close quarters. Garcia was a standout in the pass pro drills vs the running backs, displaying his ability to rush under control and be effective, he is strong at the point of attack and he was able to win multiple reps. Ryder has the skill set that enables him to cover passing lanes well and he can come downhill and be stout in the run game. Look for Garcia to be able to fly around and make plays for the Guyer defense in 2024.

Williams took reps on both sides of the ball and made plays whenever he stepped between the lines. Defensively he plays fast, he transitions into his backpedal smoothly and he brakes on the ball quickly, closing down passing lanes. He has a lean, long, athletic frame and he has the quickness that allows him to mirror receivers well in space. Offensively, Williams has an explosive first step, he is shifty in space and his ability to get open enables him to free himself to make grabs in traffic. The 6’2 175 pound junior to be, has a versatile skill set that allows him to be a playmaker wherever he lines up. He is on the radar of college programs, with offers from Miami (Fla) and UTSA.
Paxton is fundamentally sound, he plays with excellent technique and he has the skill set to lockdown whoever lines up in front him and be dominant. Williams is a sticky defender who gets hands on receivers at engagement, he is strong at the point of attack and he uses his extended reach to get control of his opponents early in their routes. His ability to turn, flip his hips, cut and mirror receivers were several traits that flashed at the Select 50 Showcase. Williams plays fast but under control and he attacks the ball aggressively in flight. Paxton is just scratching the surface and he is in line to keep the tradition going at Guyer of producing top flight defensive backs.
Highlights
Morgan has a strong arm, he makes throws on time and in rhythm and his ability to complete passes into tight coverage windows were several traits that stuck out in his game at the Select 50 Showcase. He sees the field well and he made good decisions with the football, showing the ability to spray the route tree accurately. Carter excelled in the 11 vs 11 portion of the drills, showing poise under duress, he had superb pocket presence, navigating the clutter to complete several dimes on the money. Morgan has the skill set that will improve as he matures and he will be a name to know at Guyer on Friday nights in a few years.

Eaves is shifty in space, he runs crisp routes with the ability to make quick cuts to free himself at the line and he is a sure handed receiver who makes grabs in heavy traffic look routine. Trent moved fluidly through the drill portion of the receivers indy group session, showing quick feet and clean footwork. Eaves had a phenomenal junior season, displaying an ability to make big plays and stretch the defense by creating separation at the second level. Trent showed at the Select 50 Showcase that he has game and you can expect him to continue to give defenses fits heading into his senior season.

Sterling is ball hawk on the backend from his safety position who has excellent field vision, he has the speed to cover ground in a hurry and he closes fast but under control. He has a long, lean, athletic frame, he uses his length well to deflect passes and Sterling has the skill set to come down in the box to play in the nickel package and cover slot receivers. At 6’1 195 pounds, he has the frame to cover up large receivers and play sticky defense against tight ends in the seams or flats and he can come down in run fits, plugging gaps and laying the wood. The rising junior to be picked up an offer from Tarleton State recently. Look for his profile to rise as he heads into the 2024 season.

White is a big body target at 6’2, who moves fluidly, he has a large catch radius with strong hands and his body control enables him to win frequently in close coverage. Mason is a smooth route runner, his quickness allows him to stack defenders early keeping them off balance and he has the speed to get deep, creating separation at the second level. White is an explosive leaper, showing flashes of his basketball background by being able to play above the rim and win on the 50/50 jump balls. White will be another offensive weapon in the Guyer offense, who will surely get touches each game, giving them a big play threat out wide or in the slot.

Seib is a smooth route runner, he explodes at the snap and his ability to get open often at the Select 50 Showcase was on full display all camp long. He has a large catch radius with strong hands and he uses his frame well to put himself between the ball and the defender. Drew has the quickness to shake free at the snap and the speed to create separation at the second level. He made big plays at the Select 50 Showcase, he was able to get deep and come down with a big 50/50 ball and a contested catch for a TD during the redzone period. Seib should see plenty of action in the Guyer offense in 2024.
