Williams, a standout cornerback from Guyer High School, possesses a long, lean athletic frame complemented by exceptional physical attributes. Standing at 6’0” and weighing 175 pounds, his extended reach and clean footwork enable him to effectively shut down passing lanes. Williams’s fluid backpedal and active hands further enhance his coverage abilities, allowing him to maintain tight, “sticky” coverage against opposing receivers. He took home the defensive back MVP honors.
During his sophomore season, Williams demonstrated his defensive prowess with impressive statistics: 35 solo tackles, totaling 47 tackles, along with one interception and one fumble recovery.

Williams has a complete skill set that enables him to be a shut down defender. He plays with excellent technique, he transitions into his backpedal smoothly and his ability to turn, plant, cut and change directions quickly enables him to mirror receivers, not giving ground in tight coverage. Paxton uses his length to his advantage in coverage combined with his sticky hands, which allows him to get hands on receivers at engagement and this enables him to shut down passing lanes. Williams plays with great leverage, he plays under control and he shows great patience, not biting on one or two moves from receivers, showing the ability to stay locked in on his opponent. Paxton has a well rounded game and he has the skill set that makes him an attractive prospect. Look for Williams to see valuable snaps at Guyer in 2024 and he will be a name to know in Wildcat country over the next three years.

Paxton is fundamentally sound, he plays with excellent technique and he has the skill set to lockdown whoever lines up in front him and be dominant. Williams is a sticky defender who gets hands on receivers at engagement, he is strong at the point of attack and he uses his extended reach to get control of his opponents early in their routes. His ability to turn, flip his hips, cut and mirror receivers were several traits that flashed at the Select 50 Showcase. Williams plays fast but under control and he attacks the ball aggressively in flight. Paxton is just scratching the surface and he is in line to keep the tradition going at Guyer of producing top flight defensive backs.
