Spencer-Hood is a sticky defender, who plays with controlled aggression and excellent technique. He get hands on receivers in press coverage to alter their routes, his ability to quickly change directions allows him to mirror receivers well in coverage and he plays the passing lanes well shutting down throwing windows. Amarion won MVP honors at the 2023 showcase and he has continued to add tools to his game. After seeing clips from his spring tape, he brings that same swagger in pads, he is a sure tackler, who can cover and bring the wood. He has offers from Southeastern Oklahoma State, Webber International University and a host of camp invites from colleges.

Hood transitions into his backpedal smoothly, he has fluid hips, he has the ability to turn, run, plant and shift his weight to change directions quickly, which enables him to stay engaged with receivers. Amarion plays with controlled aggression, he is a sticky defender who gets hands on wideouts early in their routes and his ability to shut down passing lanes in coverage were traits that stuck out in his game during the 1v1 and 7v7 portion of the Select 50 Showcase. Hood walked away from the Select 50 Showcase with a Defensive Back MVP Award and showed that he has the skill set needed to play stingy defense. You can expect Hood to make waves on Friday Nights in the Tyler High secondary.
