Our spring camp tour continued on Wednesday in Noble and this was a camp that featured a ton of individual and team talent. 4A state champion Blanchard and 2A state champion Washington headlined the teams along with 5A runner up Del City and a ton of individual talent. In this report, we take a look at the Warriors from Washington as they look primed for a run at a third consecutive state title. We also shift the spotlight to some of the top performers from the other teams in attendance.

WASHINGTON WARRIORS SPOTLIGHT

The Warriors have been one of the more dominant teams in Oklahoma over the last four years. They've made four straight trips to the state championship game and have won the last two. In fact, they'll go into the 2024 season with a 30-game winning streak after perfect seasons during those title runs. But right now, the Warriors are looking to reload for another run to Edmond and based on what we saw on Wednesday, they are going to be just fine.

The Warriors are returning some of the very best players in the state. That group is headlined by top overall 2025 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='353411' first='Nate' last='Roberts'] at the tight end position. They also have a top five 2027 prospect in [player_tooltip player_id='473879' first='Case' last='Alexander'] at linebacker and he'll also play some offense this fall. But this is a team that has plenty of experience returning and a youth movement coming with some very special talent in the 2028 class. How much will they be able to rely on freshmen this fall? Only time will tell. But they are coming and the Warriors are going to be in the mix for a while.

Now, Class 2A is completely different than it has been with the split. The Warriors find themselves in 2A-1 and that is without a doubt the harder of the two divisions. The competition will be ratcheted up but this is still the team to beat heading into the 2024 season. Below, we take a look at five of the Warriors that stood out to us throughout the day on Wednesday.

[player_tooltip player_id='473879' first='Case' last='Alexander'] - 2027 Linebacker

It was a very successful week for Washington 2027 linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='473879' first='Case' last='Alexander'] as he dominated the camp in Noble and would then earn an offer from OU later. Alexander has already established himself in our eyes as one of the top overall prospects in the state's 2027 class. He was outstanding last year as a fall and was right there amongst the best freshmen in the state. Alexander looks like he's taken another step on the defensive side of the ball, becoming more of a verbal leader. And then the surprise (maybe it shouldn't have been considering the family) was seeing Alexander line up on offense at the tight end position. Don't be surprised to see him on offense this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='473891' first='Creed' last='Barrett'] - 2028 Quarterback

Washington 2028 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='473891' first='Creed' last='Barrett'] has been on our radar from his success at the PRZ-Next camps in the last two offseasons. So as Barrett heads into his freshman year this fall, it won't be surprising to us if the young gun ends up earning the nod as the starter for the reigning champs. Barrett is a special talent but Wednesday was our first chance to see him where the competition is taken up a notch and he already looks like he belongs. He's still inexperienced at the varsity level so it will be interesting to see when he gets on the field. But after watching him in person this week, it feels like it's not a matter of if, but when Barrett gets on the field.

[player_tooltip player_id='489454' first='Kane' last='Lampkin'] - 2025 Defensive End

Out of the five Washington standouts on this breakdown, 2025 defensive end [player_tooltip player_id='489454' first='Kane' last='Lampkin'] was a name that we didn't know going into the camp on Wednesday. The Warriors have had some really strong players lining up at defensive end over the last few years and Lampkin could be the next guy up in that department. Lampkin was incredibly productive throughout the two varsity sessions on Wednesday afternoon. Lampkin used a variety of moves, along with brute strength to routinely get into the backfield and cause problems for opposing running games or the quarterback. Lampkin might not have been on our radar coming into the camp but he certainly is now.

[player_tooltip player_id='671397' first='Kash' last='Guthmueller'] - 2025 Athlete

Washington 2025 standout [player_tooltip player_id='671397' first='Kash' last='Guthmueller'] is fitting in just fine as he has made the move to Washington this offseason. We've known Guthmueller as more of a linebacker and a standout on the defensive side of the ball. But on Wednesday, we were really impressed with what he was able to do on offense. The Warriors were without their expected starter at running back and Guthmueller saw some reps on offense and did a very good job. And then on defense, we saw him move towards the secondary and play more of a traditional safety role. He's a hard hitter and after watching him on the 7v7 circuit this offseason, it was fun to watch him with the pads on and being physical.

[player_tooltip player_id='353411' first='Nate' last='Roberts'] - 2025 Tight End

Washington tight end and Ohio State commit [player_tooltip player_id='353411' first='Nate' last='Roberts'] was one of the marquee players to watch heading into the camp and he had a good showing. Full disclosure, it's May, and the Warriors know exactly what they have in Roberts so they weren't going to risk him getting banged up or injured by forcing the ball his way all day. It was a somewhat quiet day but the opportunities he did have, he took full advantage. When he gets the ball, he is an absolute problem for defenders in the secondary or even linebackers to bring down in a one on one situation. There were plenty of times when the whistle blew and he had a defender or two draped on his shoulders.

OTHER TOP PERFORMERS

[player_tooltip player_id='1179996' first='Acyn' last='Hansen'] - 2026 Quarterback - Jones

Death, taxes and Jones having a solid quarterback. These are the guarantees in life. The Longhorns have another quarterback to keep an eye on moving forward and he has a familiar name. 2026 signal caller [player_tooltip player_id='1179996' first='Acyn' last='Hansen'] showed strong poise throughout the afternoon session and was firing some absolute darts. Hansen's older brothers Justice and Kanan were both standouts at Edmond Santa Fe. Acyn was on our radar prior to the camp but this was our first chance to really watch him run the offense and he already looks like he belongs.

[player_tooltip player_id='268307' first='Brayson' last='Carter'] - 2025 Athlete - Blanchard

If we were to rank the top impact players from Wednesday's team camp session, it would be hard not to put Blanchard 2025 standout [player_tooltip player_id='268307' first='Brayson' last='Carter'] right at the top. It seemed like every time he got the ball in his hands, he was taking it to the house. And that's not surprising to us after watching him help lead the Lions to the 4A state championship last season. Look, Carter might not have the prototypical size that college coaches are looking for but turn on the tape or watch him in person. You won't be able to find many players on the field better than him.

[player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten'] - 2025 Running Back - Pauls Valley

Pauls Valley 2025 running back [player_tooltip player_id='353410' first='Caden' last='Knighten'] was near the top of our list coming into the week for players we were excited to see in person. Knighten missed most of his junior season with an injury and now he's back to 100 percent. We got to Noble and the very first time he touched the ball, that we saw, he took it to the house. We mentioned it prior to the camp, when he's healthy, he's one of the very best players in Oklahoma. And we're talking about a Player Of The Year candidate, not just a top running back. Knighten is back and ready to roll.

[player_tooltip player_id='1286006' first='Conner' last='Lane'] - 2025 Wide Receiver - Noble

Noble 2025 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1286006' first='Conner' last='Lane'] was another new name for us to watch on Wednesday and he really impressed. The first thing that caught our attention was his quickness off the line and breakaway speed. He had several plays where he ran a simple go route down the field and within ten yards, he had created several yards of separation from his opponent in man to man coverage. He used that speed to get open and make big plays down the field. But he also was put into several jump ball situations and went up and came down with the ball. Look out for him moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='1100200' first='Coric' last='Pierce'] - 2025 Athlete - Blanchard

The last time we watched Blanchard's [player_tooltip player_id='1100200' first='Coric' last='Pierce'] in person, he was an absolute star for the Lions in the state championship game. The 2025 athlete is back and had a new role this spring as Blanchard's quarterback with their expected QB1 out with an injury. But Pierce will provide the Lions with plenty of versatility and overall playmaking on the offensive side of the ball. Don't be surprised if they get creative and design some packages for Pierce at the quarterback position. And Pierce is also still a playmaker to watch at wide receiver and then he helped out the Lions on defense at safety.

[player_tooltip player_id='356897' first='Jashawn' last='Mccalister'] - 2025 Athlete - Del City

Del City standout [player_tooltip player_id='356897' first='Jashawn' last='Mccalister'] was a player that really stood out to us last fall as the Eagles were on a run to the 5A state championship game. We loved the versatility that he brought to the defensive side of the ball and it looked like he played multiple positions. From rush edge to linebacker, he had an impact in each spot. On Wednesday, we saw him move back to the safety position and again, he had that same impact. Mccalister is a really good defensive prospect that deserves more attention in the state's 2025 class. He showed that again this week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1286005' first='Jason' last='Kawaykla'] - 2026 Quarterback - Chickasha

Another new name for our radar was Chickasha 2026 standout [player_tooltip player_id='1286005' first='Jason' last='Kawaykla'] at the quarterback position. We were impressed by their backfield overall as they had a pair of running backs that also stood out. But Kawaykla was the guy who ran the show on offense. The thing that was so impressive was how much Kawaykla was ready for every single rep and the competition that they were facing. He has a strong arm and he's an athletic quarterback that can also tuck the ball and run. Don't be surprised if Chickasha's offense takes a big jump this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1187311' first='Jon' last='Grimmett'] - 2025 Tight End - Pauls Valley

The Noble team camp had a good list of 2025 tight ends to keep an eye on this fall and it wasn't just Roberts at Washington. Pauls Valley 2025 standout [player_tooltip player_id='1187311' first='Jon' last='Grimmett'] is going to be a name to watch and his recruitment is really starting to pick up over the last month. We think the Pauls Valley offense could be one of the best in Class 3A this fall. When teams try to limit Knighten and the running game, the Panthers can throw it up to Grimmett and several times on Wednesday, he showed that he's a significant threat down the field. He's another 2025 prospect on the rise.

[player_tooltip player_id='598825' first='Mishaun' last='Graham'] - 2025 Wide Receiver - Del City

Del City 2025 wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id='598825' first='Mishaun' last='Graham'] was right there with Blanchard's [player_tooltip player_id='268307' first='Brayson' last='Carter'] for most impressive performance on Wednesday. Graham was a big play threat for the Del City offense and the Eagles are looking to keep it rolling on that side of the ball. Last year, they had a legitimate three-headed monster at QB, RB and WR and it looks like they've reloaded. Graham appears to be the top target in the Del City offense and he showed that on Wednesday. He made some spectacular catches in the end zone and is going to be a name to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='587262' first='Ricklan' last='B Holmes II'] - 2026 Linebacker - Del City

Staying at Del City with our next standout but going to the defensive side of the ball, mostly. 2026 linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='587262' first='Ricklan' last='B Holmes II'] immediately caught our eye on Wednesday but for different reasons compared to some of the other standouts. First off, Holmes had plenty of success from a production standpoint on defense and also on offense at running back. But the biggest takeaway we have regarding Holmes was his physical maturation. I believe it's been six months since we saw him in person. And it looked like he spent those six months living in the weight room.

[player_tooltip player_id='1187313' first='Riley' last='Ellefson'] - 2025 Tight End - Jones

We talked with a few college coaches in attendance and Jones 2025 tight end [player_tooltip player_id='1187313' first='Riley' last='Ellefson'] was a player that made the short list of players impressing them. We watched film of Ellefson this offseason and then got a good chance of him to work on both sides of the ball. We think Ellefson is an outstanding tight end prospect but he also flashed on defense, coming off the edge. But we think his greatest impact on Wednesday and as a prospect is on offense. Ellefson is a big target and as he continues to fill out, he's going to be a very dangerous 2025 prospect.
