Next Up 2027 QB's - Prep Redzone

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Evaluating some of the top projected 2027 QB's entering their sophomore seasons. </h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Impressive young QB that checks a lot of early boxes with his combination of size, natural arm talent, and upside. Good length at 6'3” 195 lbs. with an athletic frame. Well-trained with his footwork and pocket mechanics, he's calm with his feet landing with a tall balanced throwing platform. Accurate with the football to all three levels. Does a good job throwing his receivers open and mixing up speeds depending on defenders and throwing lane. Throws well on the run to either direction, gets his shoulders square and doesn't lose velocity or accuracy outside the pocket. He's a plus athlete that move the chains with his legs on both designed runs and scrambles. At 6'2” 200 lbs. he's an exciting player to watch with his dual-threat skillset and improvisation. An excellent athlete that has great awareness and feel for the game to escape pressure. Extremely tough to bring down in the backfield given his strength and mobility in the pocket. Natural arm strength gives him added velocity at the short/intermediate levels and vertical depth to stretch the field. At his best when he's able to create and use his legs, has good speed and can run through contact while maintaining forward momentum. His throws are in line with his receivers with good ball placement and timing despite throwing on the run or from unbalanced platforms. Good movement in the pocket, he adjusts well to pressure and maintains good eye discipline to find an open target downfield. His athleticism and feet allow him to buy time and create throwing lanes. Possesses natural arm strength with good footwork/mechanics to finish his throws and follow through with his hips. Throws are precise and in the right spots to allow his to make a play on the ball and run after the catch. Ball comes out with good velocity and spin to all areas of the field. Flashes good field vision to scan the field and not force the ball into tight coverage. Coach like his intangibles and leadership abilities. As a freshman he already possesses ideal size and length for the college level to get added height to his throws. He's got a live arm that can zip a ball into a tight window or throw with touch and trajectory to the deep third. Has a quick/compact delivery and does good job mixing up velocities and layering the ball over second level defenders. Shows good anticipation and timing to locate a throwing lane and hit receivers coming out of their break. Confident in his ability as a passer and not afraid to take chances or throw under pressure.
